New Australian Pilot looking for a Squadron

I'm in the AEST timezone and am primarily looking for an Australian Squadron or one that has Australian Players and is active. I'm hoping for a realistic style of organisation and maybe (if anyone even does this on IL2) some milsim.

I'm a new Pilot (although I did often play the original (I think) version of IL2 Sturmovik and Birds of Prey) and plan on buying BOS and maybe BOM within the next month, when I have the time to move my flight sim computer.

Good flying!

Wasn't birds of prey developed by gaijin, only just published udner the il2 title or something?

Ask aroudn on teamspeak around your time midnight to 4 am. It seems that's when the aussies and europeans like to hop on ts, not at I check that often.

There are actually quite an umber of aussies playing the game despite our relatively high latency (I get 400-450 to the main populated servers because I'm western australian without NBN nor VPN nor alternative routing... Western Australia doesn't even use its own underwater sea cables for some reason and so the traceroute shows that it connects to Vyborg (wings of liberty) through hawii/NY/europe which is basically 4/5ths of the world. It's theoretically possible to get just 80 msec ping to france from perth, but well, maybe it's more expensive to use than going 3/4ths to the world to france?)

Cheers! Apparently on wikipedia Birds of Prey was an IL2 conversion that Gaijin developed, I think from the main base of IL 2 Sturmovik.

I'll be sure to look around on Teamspeak.
