6./ZG26_McKvack Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Here are some pic and friend for scale: http://imgur.com/a/jj0pb What amazes me most is how big that thing is. One thing that is hard to get in flight sims IMO is getting the feeling of how big the aircrafts really are. I was blown away. I will see if I can get some pictures inside next time 2
Finkeren Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 I've only seen a real Fw 190 once, and I thought it looked small, but then again, it was placed close to a P-51. Nice pictures of an awesome aircraft.
CUJO_1970 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 The Focke-Wulf is bigger in person...also looks very modern and well-designed compared to many other contemporary fighters, it's just so clean. First time I saw it all I could do was stand there and gawk. Gorgeous. Wanna see a really big fighter? Walk next to a Do-335...absolutely massive. The 262 is also a pretty big fighter. He-219 is gigantic...The Hurricane is also a lot bigger in person, as is some of the late-war Japanese aircraft. Two aircraft that were smaller in person than I thought they would be were the Me-163 Comet and the Arado-234 Blitz.
Luftschiff Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 (edited) As a fellow Swede, I'm instantly curious as to what flight school you attend to find such beautiful birds. Is it Tekniska på Skå-Edeby? Edited June 30, 2017 by Luftschiff

Didn't really like it before I could stand right infornt of it and just admire it's shere size and elegance. Since than I kind of love it. Adding the La-7 / La-5 to the list of aircrfat that seem bigger than they are. I was really suprised to find out the La-7 wasn't really bigger than a 109 (the Svetsov is a fairly compact engine). The He 162 on the other hand was a little bigger than expected. Nice to have such a nice bird at your flight school. Hopefully it's being looked after and cared well.
Finkeren Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 (edited) Practically all Soviet fighters of WW2 are tiny. I-16, MiG-3, Yak, LaGG, La - all of them are shorter than the Bf 109 and at most have around the same wingspan. Edited June 30, 2017 by Finkeren
