At low altitude it should be fairly competitive; FC was arguable fighting a rather silly battle in 191-42 and the Fw. 190 was exactly what JG2 / 26 needed to counter those operations (not that the early FWs did not have significant issues).

 

In the a-historical skies of MP, it should be not dissimilar to an F4 in terms of overall package.

Well, yes, but they are 10 a Penny. Couldn't care less about what they feel, think or like. Maybe I will if once in a while they had my Back while I was doing the Important Stuff like Ground Attack or Transport while all they do is burn fuel. 

 

So I will largely ignore the Spit and wait for a useful Machine like a Hurricane or Fw-189 anything else on the List that can be used to further the War Effort.

No, no. Multi purpose is nice to have of course, but ever heard of a saying, jack of all trades, master of none? There are times when it is best to use proper tools for specific jobs rather than tackle everything with a Swiss army knife.

Let's pull back for a second: The only reason why our Spit won't have the ability to carry bombs is because that option was specifically deleted on the 149 Soviet LL Spit Mk. Vs, that's why, plain and simple.

 

It's not like the design didn't have any fighter-bomber configuration. It did.

 

Now could they have included the bomb carrying ability in the model anyway? Of course they could, and noone would have batted an eye.

 

After all: They did include the 4xmg151/20 rustsätze for the Fw 190A5 even though it was apparently never used on the Eastern Front.

Let's be realistic: We aren't missing much.

 

Even with 2 x FAB100, the Spit wouldn't be a good ground pounder. It would be worse than the Yak-1 s. 69 even.

I hope allied pilots will fly higher altitudes with it...it is only rarely that we fight at contrail heights online. Those fights can be a great deal of fun.

A Great Il-2 Supplement. I just love it. Especially in a Coordinated Team it is devastating against 110s and 109Es.

Spit will be similar to fighting a Yak while I'm in my Butcherbird.

 

I hope it gives the allies another option, nobody hardly flies Laggs or P-40s anymore so it will be nice to fly against something different than a Yak.
