NETSCAPE Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 This isn't the first time this has happened. It's now clearly a repeating issue for me. Here is the recent example. All I did was fix some derpy ju52 from running into each other...saved and tested over and over... Previously my Stuka take off was 100% fine, I tested the whole mission at least 3 times and considered it finished, it was good to go. I have a staffel of stukas on the runway. They take off in kette of 3 as a group. When the 3rd member of a group takes off it sends a ontookoff link to the next kette's take off command. Super simple. After the first kette takes off ALL the other take off commands are triggered resulting in the remaining 9 stukas playing demolition derby. So here's where it gets interesting, I have a second hard drive I back up work on. So I "assumed" my slight ju52 changes resulted in "messing up" the mission. So I moved the mission out of il2 into a temp folder and moved the BACKUP, ie original, fully functioning mission files into the il2 folder. And now even that has this take off bug...... As stated this is not the first time this has happened. And at one point I just gave up and redid the whole airfield scene and all the take offs, only for it to happen again, but that one was kette in parking going to taxi, still the same issue where when the second kette was to be triggered ALL the rest were also triggered. Is this a known bug or what? I mean I can't continue working on missions if re-saving a file after a minor fix in the mission results in the whole thing getting messed up.... I just wasted a good 2 hours on something that worked fine before and it still isn't fixed. There isn't a fix. Everything is perfect as it should be. Workflow is absolutely destroyed when things like this happen.
NETSCAPE Posted June 29, 2017 Author Posted June 29, 2017 (edited) hahaha oh man here's where it gets really juicy... I copy pasted the stukas on 3 different runways along with their respective take off and rally point waypoints and of course made a very simple fake airfield to go along with these. 1 of the 3 works. alllllrighty then. I guess it's "solved" for now... until next time comrades. Edited June 29, 2017 by NETSCAPE
JimTM Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Can you post the original mission and the "solved" mission please.
NETSCAPE Posted June 29, 2017 Author Posted June 29, 2017 Hey Jim, there are absolutely no differences. The things I copied and pasted were items that "didn't work" but magically worked upon duplication. I'd post a mission but I don't want it public, trying to go official and all that jazz. I might extract what I'm talking about and paste it in a new mission so you can see. It's so bloody simple. I'm staying busy atm fine tuning missions.

For instance, don't copy/paste Complex Triggers....the copies will not function properly. Sometimes a certain event will not fire in the Complex Trigger, even though other events in the same trigger and functioning normally. Placing a second trigger and re-piping the broken output/ event to the same MCU/timer etc solves the problem. I cant' tell you how many hours I've burned chasing down and reporting bugs, sometimes just odd behaviors specific to a certain aircraft. For a while, a flight of more than 4 Ju-52's would not take off correctly. Then certain missions "broke" because aircraft would no longer taxi from hard stands. So I had to change every mission where the player started out from that position. (since fixed) I've probably been one of the most productive testers that isn't actually a beta tester! Interesting bit of info here. I will keep that in mind.
