Hi everyone,

I've got an issue with the landscape which is blur and I really don't remember it was the case before.

First of all my graphic settings :

Then a picture of the landscape. You can clearly notice that it's becoming blur quite fast with the forest being blurred.

What I found really odd is that whatever the value I put in the Distant landscape detail settings : from normal to 4x. It always stay the same. Blur exactly at the same distance.. Any idea? :( :(

I can't tell for sure from your post or screenshot, but I suspect you're talking about the same "bubble of blur" problem some of us have been complaining about for years.  I had high hopes about the migration to DX11, and I keep hoping that some update or another will actually manage to address this in some fashion, but no luck so far.  The main thing I like to do in this theater is pound ground targets, and this blur bubble really spoils it for me, so BoS/BoM is still sitting on the shelf for me.  I dust it off and test it every time they release a patch/update, and check out the shiny new toys and improvements they bring (of which there are a lot), but in the end it always goes back on the shelf because it just isn't fun (to me) having to see this all the time while looking for targets to hit.

Maybe one day (hope springs eternal).

First of all thanks for your answer.

Actually I thought that the Distant landscape detail settings was taking care of that blur bubble by expanding it far away.. I can change that setting and don't see any difference regarding graphics..

If I'm wrong well, nothing is new here, and topic can be closed directly with my apologizes.

I'm not really sure what the terrain distance setting is supposed to do, but in my previous testing it never seemed to have any effect on the blur bubble.  IIRC, the devs or someone seemingly knowledeable said the blur bubble has something to do with how the LOD changes for the trees are handled, but it's all beyond me.

Well I do have the line : land_tex_lods = 3 in my startup.cfg file, I still find it VERY blur comparing to other screenshots I have seen lately

[KEY = graphics]
 3dhud = 0
 adapter = 0
 bloom_enable = 1
 desktop_center = 1
 detail_rt_res = 4096
 fps_counter = 0
 fps_limit = 144
 full_height = 1080
 full_width = 1920
 fullscreen = 1
 gamma = 0.90000
 grass_distance = 300.00000
 hdr_enable = 1
 land_anisotropy = 1
 land_tex_lods = 3
 mgpu_compatible = 0
 mirrors = 3
 multisampling = 2
 or_enable = 0
 post_sharpen = 0
 preset = 3
 rescale_target = 1.00000
 ssao_enable = 1
 vsync = 0
 win_height = 768
 win_width = 1280
[END]

I think I know what you mean. The landscape textures gets blurred very close to the player even when the landscape detail is set to 4. Like this:

I find this quite odd and it is very noticeable at least on my screen. I have reported this in the beta testing forum. Lets hope this issue gets improvements at some point.

its a game design..

Please check the mod thread here on how to tweak terrain.cfg on higher end system for a bit better rendr bubble and reduced fuzzies...

Yes, it`s a game design but still I`m not sure if it`s working properly in all situations. It gets so blurred at very close range in certain situations.

In any case, I think there should be even higher in-game setting than 4x for the high end machines.

Do you have cinematic blur off?  It's in camera settings (I think) and sometimes gets switched on with updates or reloads.
