dburne Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Nice video here explaining the Oculus Debug Tool in simple to understand terms for those that might not be all that familiar with it and what one can do with the program. Personally I think Oculus should have included much of that in the GUI of Oculus Home rather than hidden away in a debug too. I myself use the Oculus Tray Tool created by a third party - ApollyonVR , which I have set to run at startup with windows, to set much of those settings automatically per a game profile. 1
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 (edited) I also use the OTT. Last week, the automatic game profiles stopped working though - ever since the last Oculus Home update. Neither the profiles for IL2.exe nor launcher.exe get pulled. I have to rely solely on the global settings. Not that it matters, I just roll with that. Btw, this guy has the weirdest accent ever. I feel like my English is worsening while listening to him. Nonetheless, thank you for the information! Btw, what PD are you using at what average FPS, and what is your GPU? I'm going at PD 1.5 on a GTX1080, "balanced" quality ingame, ASW off, and get 45 fps on the deck, and around 60 fps at +1km altitude. Edited June 27, 2017 by 1CAG_Fenris_Wolf
dburne Posted June 27, 2017 Author Posted June 27, 2017 That is strange, the game profles still work fine for me in 1.16. Are you running his latest, version 0.69.2? You might report that to ApollyonVR in his sticky thread over on the Oculus Forums. I am running Ultra Graphics, terrain x4, and PD of 1.5. and ASW off. No HDR and No ASW. AA x4 and terrain at sharpen. I can easily maintain 90 fps once I get 100 ft or so above the terrain after takeoff. It will drop into the 70's-80's during heavy combat. The lowest I have seen is upper 60's and that is when landing just right off the runway. Even with ASW off, it is still very smooth for me all throughout. I am running an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW just over 2Ghz.
