Thad Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 Salutations Mission Builders, I have felt limited or handicapped with setting craft payloads in my Single Player missions. I find the payloads offered very limiting. According to the IL-2 Mission Editor ... To enable the functionality of the payload field, one must chose Server Type "Custom" in the DServer Configuration Dialog. May I assume that one cannot enable this functionality for single player missions? If so, is there a workaround? Perhaps manually modifying a mission file? Thanks.
JimTM Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 In the Plane Object Advanced Properties dialog, you may be seeing limited items in the Payload field because you did not make selections in the WeaponMods field first. See the descriptions for Payload and WeaponMods on pg. 229 and 231 in the manual. Actually, the functionality you refer to for the "Custom" server type allows you to lock the default Payload and WeaponMod values for multiplayer planes (in the Plane Settings dialog) and, optionally, to specify alternative values in Available Payloads and Available Mods. As far as I know, you cannot lock payloads and mods in SP missions (not sure about campaigns though).
Thad Posted June 26, 2017 Author Posted June 26, 2017 (edited) Thanks for the response.. I have read all of that. The available Weapon Mod are limited in the Weapon Mods Dialog where I choose what mod to make available. I only see what seems to be the default modifications. I see no way to change the listed code that represents any particular craft modification I desire. I seem locked into what is presented. How do I or can I adjust the WeaponMods code in single play mission creation? The code field grayed out and I can't change it. Edited June 26, 2017 by Thad
Thad Posted June 26, 2017 Author Posted June 26, 2017 I desire to change the Ju87 D-3 loadout. I'm currently only able to select the sc1800 bomb. wb81b gunpod and the bk37. I want to use one of the crafts other bomb loadouts and can't find a way to do so.

The Payload and WeaponMods field descriptions direct you to "Modifications and Payloads for Planes", starting on pg. 302 (read the introduction and Payload Name Key). In the Ju 87 D-3 subsection on pg. 314, the modifications required for different payloads are listed. So, if you want one SC500 and two SC250s, you need payload ID #4 (i.e., 4/0,1-MG17-AP-2000 + SC500-1 + SC250-2). The "Mod #" column beside payload ID #4 shows "-2,-4,-5 (all negative numbers), which means that you must not choose mods 2, 4, and 5 in order to see payload 4 in the Payload drop-down list. It's important to first choose your mods (or refrain from choosing mods) before choosing a payload. The mods and payloads are one of the more complex parts of the editor. I'll see if I can make the explanation simpler in the next version of the manual, due out in 2075. Edited June 26, 2017 by JimTM
Thad Posted June 26, 2017 Author Posted June 26, 2017 Complexity in the editor... naw, you have to be kidding.
Thad Posted June 26, 2017 Author Posted June 26, 2017 Made the de-selections and was able to access Loadout 4. Thanks.
Habu Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 Ok, in solo, no other solution. If it was in MP, you could have used the behavior.
