Mouse yoke rather than mouses aim?

Hello,

Can I operate the yoke (and therefore the control surfaces) with my mouse movements in this game?
Or is only mouse aim where the plane automatically follows the mouse (like in WarThunder) possible?

Never tried it with mouse, but there is good cheap joysticks out there.

T16000m is good quality and precise joystick, and it's cheap!

It's a sort of smart control system, you don't get direct control over the surfaces, but it's not like War Thunder's arcade mouse mode either.

Personally I don't like it very much. For instance could not land properly using the mouse. I have to admit I've spent no more than 10 minutes with it, playing on a laptop while travelling.

So there is no way to actually control the aircraft (!) via mouse movements!?

Is it possible to get it running using a simulated ppjoy joystick (like its possible in DCS)?

I think it is possible control it with mouse but how easy would be i don't know.

I believe Joy2Key might be able to. I'm sure there are programs out there that would let you use your mouse as a joystick. That is one thing I liked about War Thunder, the mouse joy system was quite nice and easy to learn.

When I was doing a lot of skinning instead of flying I would use the mouse mode to fly quick missions to check my skins. The mouse mode for BoX is great and I wish they would update the RoF mouse mode to match. It's kind of a hybrid. The plane will try to aim where the mouse is aiming but you also have to move the mouse around to control the plane movement to help get it there.

     I am not sure if I understand your question. In Settings/Key Mapping/Controls/Plane Controls, Plane control: pitch is set to RShift + Mouse Y and Plane control : Roll is set to RShift + Mouse X. Also the mouse x and y axis can be set to the pitch and roll commands without the RShift.

This is what I wanted to know. But is there an option to use the mouse without pressing RShift all the time? I will probably run out of fingers doing this :D

Do (some) servers require a joystick to join?
Are there BOS aircraft to fly on current servers; do I always need the current pack to join all servers?

I read both of these things on a Steam review.

1) Some servers are joystick only.

 

2) ... Yes and no, it depends on the server you chose. If the server enables to play every planes, you can play with BoS alone but only on BoS planes of course (and by the way even if it's BoM map you can play on it, BoM map is free for every il-2 owner).

But some servers have limited planesets and sometimes offer the possibility to play BoM planes only. In this case you can't play on it without BoM, since you can't select a plane.

 

 

By the way, I played WT with mousejoy for many years (maybe you can even recognize my nickname if you're an old player :'D)

 

 

If I have a single advice for you, according to my experience:

Buy a joystick

To be honest I don't, but I only recently started getting into WT on a larger scale. Tank battles mostly though.

I believe Joy2Key might be able to.

 

Joy2key can make a joystick act like a mouse, but not a mouse act like a joystick.
