Will trade "Ten days of Autumn" for custom mission

Hello,

Being stubborn and finding absolutely no joy whatsoever in using the (- insert rude adjectives here -) Mission Editor in this sim,  I would be happy to trade a license key for the "Ten Days of Autumn" campaign (already purchased) for a custom made ground pounding sandbox mission.

If you are interested in making a nice scenic German airfield full of **** to blow up, and populating a map with various targets; trains, convoys, ships, etc., all to be targeted by an IL2-38F, I will give you the license key for the "Ten Days of Autumn" campaign right away (to use or gift) and you can post a link to the mission in this thread/forum when it's done. No rush, if it's a few days or a week to make the mission, it's fine.

That's it. If anyone is into it, just post and we can discuss the details here or by PM.

Thanks. :)

Already own the campaign, but maybe I can create something for you to enjoy.

Give me a week (just moved to a new house) and I'll make something for ground-pounders.

Is the IL2-38F the 41, 42 or 43??

43.

And that's mighty kind of you. :)

I'll gift the campaign in the general discussion thread and I'll certainly mention your good nature towards your below flyers. Just finished building my new PC, and I'm having a few hiccups, so I'm just on my tablet for now, but I'll post up that campaign very soon.

Canada. Do have a separate account set up for the dserver program?

I'm sorry, I'm not really sure what you mean.

I was just asking with regards to the ability to setup your own multiplayer server. But don't worry about it, its not really needed.

If I have something finished up in the next month or two I'll forward it to you, I don't need anything in return. I'm on vacation for the next few weeks this month unfortunately.

CanadaOne, are you asking for a single player or multiplayer mission? I understood you meant single player, but Tuna's question makes me think that's not clear.

Canada One, have you had a look in the "Mission Sharing" thread? You might find something to suit your purposes there. Some of those missions will be a little old by now, so if one doesn't run in the current version of the game, just post back here. I'm sure someone (probably the original mission builder) will update it for you - a process that usually takes a few seconds! Some of those missions are great. Coconut, didn't you have one escorting a general to an airfiled by blasting  ground targets along the route?

Canada One - I'll make you one when the Kuban map gets here. I'll be populating that map heavily with the things you mention.

I'm busy creating a few more Ju-52 missions at the moment.

None that I remember, but who knows, I've made so many :)

For instance, one of the Gzhatsk missions is dedicated to IL-2s: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=27846

It's the second one, IIRC.

I think it was Juri_JS who did an entire campaign dedicated to the IL-2 on the Stalingrad map. I think it was called "Sturmoviks over Stalingrad".

Helllo,

Thanks to all for the feedback.

I was thinking of an air start, single player sandbox mission. Something quick, unstructured, and fun to jump into.

Oh, and if anyone here would like the "10 days of autumn" campaign, say the word. If not, I'll post it in the giveawau thread in general discussion.

I'll make you an epic one - Kuban is supposed to be here in July.

I can't see messing with either Moscow or Stalingrad ever again after that map arrives, and beyond the Ju-52 missions I'm finishing up I'm done with those maps.

Keep the campaign, I'll purchase because I want them to have the revenue.

Morning Gambit,

I bought the campaign to trade or gift. I'm far, far more of a sandbox flyer than a campaign flyer. I'll put it up for grabs in the giveaway thread.

Really looking forward to Kuban and what you put together. Glad I just built a new PC. :)

CanadaOne - I'll whisper it: fly the campaign! It's really good!

I think most people sometimes get the antisocial "hump" and occasionally just want to unplug the phone, pull down the shutters and spend some, erm, quality time with themselves (so to speak) - in which case B6's 10 Days in Autumn is perfect.

Most missions clock in at around the half-hour mark (at least in my play-through) and they're full of detail. The fact that they're based - I think - on some poor LW pilot's diary, and set right on the front line (the airfields you use are constantly in danger of being shelled), means that they're a great slice of historically-based immersion. Really, give the first couple of missions a go - they show what the game is capable of.

The campaign whisperer. :)

I'm sure you're right and the campaign is very good, but I really am a sandbox/QMB flyer. Also, I already gave the campaign away.

I've had the original IL-2 since the demo came out 15 years ago and I can probably count the number of campaign flights I've flown. To me, it's all about the QMB and the mission editor, which brings me right back to my endless rant about the QMB in this sim being anemic, and the developer's tool masquerading as a Mission Editor an abhorrent algebraic PITA.

But that's just my opinion. ;)

I actually have an unreleased P40 recon mission that can easily be swapped for the IL2. Lots of arty, trucks, tanks, and ground units to attack.

Sounds destructively fun. :)

Here you go, I just adapted it.

Let me know if you want to make any changes.

Outstanding! Thank you for that. :)

I'm on the last legs of finishing up my new PC build, transferring files from old machine to new, and I'll jump into that mission tonight if I can.

Very much appreciated, really looking forward to what you did.

Got to fly your mission a few times this morning and it's very nicely put together. The map has a feeling of being alive. Very cool.

Thanks again! :)
