UnZip help

Gents,

 

This is not a George Michael request for help, but every time I now try and download a Zipped file, I'm asked to purchase the Winzip product as my free trial period has finished.  Therefore, is there any other free way of unzipping down loaded files, or do I need to just purchase this Winzip product.

 

Any help will be useful for this mechanical engineer.

You do not need to buy WinZip. You can simply close the popup and it'll keep working. However getting 7zip isn't a bad idea, since some downloads occasionally are 7zip archives as they allow more compression of the files than ordinary zip-files can manage.

If you have windows Winzip comes with it.
You can open and create your own zips.

But if you want more control
i recommend Free-Arc it has better compression ratios and so on

I used to use win rar but the popup was really annoying.
