Blitzen Posted June 22, 2017 Author Posted June 22, 2017 I have been trying for 2 days straight to get a brand new 1070 PC to work with new Oculus & fresh steam install of BoS, with no luck. One problem is as stated it title of post :I cannot keep VR enable box checked. I fI quit game as instructed I don't get an auto reboot/restart.When I restart manually the check on enable VR is gone.I cannot figure a way to keep it.So far I have been unable to see BoS in any way in Rift or to figure out Controller problems...and I thought install would be easy!
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 (edited) Is the folder IL2 located in write protected? Do other config changes stick, or do they have the same problem? A workaround, someone posted a command line option to launch the game with VR disabled. The inverse option would at least start it for you with VR on. I'll try dig up the post. Here it is. Isn't this what you are looking for? 2.009c hotfix - 'Collapsed HUD' issue fixed You can use this command line option to turn VR off: IL-2.exe or_enable=0 and this to turn it on ( the second parameter turns on exclusive input so the game won't lose focus if it runs in window mode): IL-2.exe or_enable=1;exclusive=1 Edited June 23, 2017 by Tripwire

SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 (edited) The correct 101 guide to set things up for the Rift in the first time is this: Use the Steam version of IL-2 (check) Download SteamVR (if you have already, default all its settings) Download Oculus Tray Tool (google) In Oculus Tray Tool, "inject SteamVR" into Oculus Home, turn ASW off (bugged in IL-2) Start Oculus Home Start SteamVR from within Oculus Home On your monitor, check SteamVR settings - disable "SteamVR beta" Run and finish the Room setup in SteamVR, select "standing/seated for limited space" Check every point on that list, now you have walked through the important first setup steps. To start IL-2 from now on (chronological order is mandatory) : 1. Start Oculus Tray Tool 2. Start Oculus Home & Steam 3. Start SteamVR from within Oculus Home 4. In Steam Library, navigate to VR tab, find IL-2, select "Play in VR" (if there is only the blue button "Play", you did something wrong) 5. Only now, you put on the Rift! Close your eyes for IL-2's login judder is terrible. (Controller connected anywhere - not even once - do not have controllers connected. In doubt, pull out batteries/restart PC.)
