Dear LaGG-3 series 29

 

You are heavy, slow, under powered, have a serious lack of armor and your high altitude performance is lackluster to say the least, but jesus, that 23mm in your nose is a thing of beauty!

P.S. My aim may be terrible and my nose may wobble when its not meant to but it doesn't seem to matter, one hit in the right spot and its all over.

Sorry for shooting you down yesterday. But while you were attacking the poor Stuka basically you could afford just to ignore the gunners. The lagg is the best bomber interceptor in the game for me. You did the right think protecting the zone from enemy bombers.

 

And it happened to me yesterday to be desintegrated in Fw 190 by a yak more than 700 m below me with a single burst. When a 109 is burning it is a goner, when a Lagg burns he can put the flames off by a dive.

 

So the alimiminium is burning better than wood.

On the other hand if they reduce the explosive capacity of the 23 mm, nobody would like to fly such an under-performing machine. And that would not be fun at all.

Haha no need to apologize! I was actually intending to search for fighters when I saw that stuka below me. According to Wikipedia, and im not saying that it is a necessarily a correct source but it says "In combat, the LaGG-3's main advantage was its strong airframe. Although the laminated wood did not burn, it shattered when hit by high explosive rounds."

Haha it could be, I honestly can't remember who most of them were. I do know that the one I killed with the broken gun sight was the same one that cut me to pieces in the last shot but that about it. 

It used to come up with the names of the people in the flight records reply's but it doesn't seem to anymore, not sure why.

Of course the only thing better than a 23mm is - A 37MM!!!!
