II./JG27_Rich Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 (edited) Plus a lot more...Fighting the 109 bigins at 17 minutes Edited December 11, 2013 by II./JG27_Rich 5
Feathered_IV Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Great video. I got my first clear cut victory over a 109 on Monday night using similar scissor tactics to those shown. Very satisfying to finally manage it. 1
ACG_Kraut Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Man it's difficult to bring down those 109s!
II./JG27_Rich Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 (edited) Well like Ape says it will get better for the Russians with the Yak and the La-5 Edited December 11, 2013 by II./JG27_Rich
Feathered_IV Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I was rather hoping for an I-16. I guess I'm a bit of a glutton for punishment. 1
LLv34_Flanker Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 S! I did not find the AI hard to bring down. It becomes predictable after a bit and if you can avoid their shots then a piecemeal. LagG-3 has nice guns
SvAF/F19_Klunk Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I was rather hoping for an I-16. I guess I'm a bit of a glutton for punishment. hear hear! +1
HagarTheHorrible Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Thanks AOTY, great mini review of the Alpha. where you by any chance using "SweetFX" ? I noticed that as you started your landing approach the runway looked awful, but once you came within a certain distance it improved dramaticaly, I also had this problem, but I think it is less of a problem if "SweetFX" is turned off (I was using Jasons default settings). I wonder if it also has an effect on other distant object such as aircraft, making them difficult to spot outside of that unaliased/aliased cut off point.
VR-DriftaholiC Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 The 109's are easy when you can get them to fight you... all they do is turn and climb.
=69.GIAP=RADKO Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Never mind the tips. Overall the video and his opinions are far more interesting. Great video!
andyw248 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Standard video for those who want to shoot down 109's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LTYRQUdlIc.
II./JG27_Rich Posted December 12, 2013 Author Posted December 12, 2013 Videos like these are like a 25 minute long ultimate trailer. Who wouldn't want to go out and buy this sim after that video?
Fifi Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Who wouldn't want to go out and buy this sim after that video? Plenty people...not interested in flight sims
HeavyCavalrySgt Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 The 109's are easy when you can get them to fight you... all they do is turn and climb. Remember - their goal is too shoot you down too. You can sucker them down by making it a 2 circle fight or just turning away and then reversing back or forcing the overshoot as Ape did.
II./JG27_Rich Posted December 12, 2013 Author Posted December 12, 2013 (edited) If a fighter can turn and also climb.."That's bad bad bad". As Bush senior would say Edited December 12, 2013 by II./JG27_Rich
71st_AH_Hooves Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Great video man! I hope to see more of your vids as the game develops. SUBBED!
II./JG27_Rich Posted December 13, 2013 Author Posted December 13, 2013 (edited) I just saw a sght that said the Yak 1 was better than the 109-E so that's very good news for Russia. I think the first 109 ever built could take on a Lagg3. I was ready that it was made with a bakelite covering over the wood witch when you think of it is a great idea but it's just too heavy of a substance for a fighter. Fifi Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 That's actually a great screen shot Feathered!
FlatSpinMan Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Thanks for posting this vid (and making it Apeoftheyear) - very interesting and I got some helpful tips for flying, too.
