It's from the Spitfire Va Vb Vc (+ Seafire I & II) Pilot's Notes rather than any test, so they're conservative and have a fair safety margin. I'm pretty sure there's a number of pdf scans of them floating around the interwebs for download.

 

In regards to the stalling characteristics, the NACA tested a Va (you can find their reports at the bottom of the following link) and in summary they found the buffeting and general behavior close to a stall enabled the pilot to get close to and ride the edge by easing the stick when she was about to break away.

 

How this will translate into the game with the FM and our desktop joysticks is anybody's guess  :joy:

As you sayed before this manual serves to give pilots a better idea of how the Spitfire is to be handled and isn't nessecarily suited to be used as factual evidence.

I read on il2 facebook page that spitfire or next update will be out on 6th of july or day following it!
