I get that. I was asking why people fret. Some seem very concerned about balance on the F4F/A6M match-up, which I really don't get, given the match-ups we have in the sim now.

Those that will have problems will be the "I must get a kill" types who equate a score on their stat sheet with having a good time. Or equate equal killing potential in all situations with 'balance' You cant' help those guys. Myself I know that if flying a Wildcat, blowing through a formation of Zekes and one firing pass might be all that I get and then I head home. Maybe it will result in a kill, maybe it won't...but I'll live. If I get jumped from above while on the deck...I'd better have buddies around. Yep I've had flights in BoS too (several years ago now) where I flew for 30 minutes, had a momentary swirling fight that lasted only seconds, no shots fired, turned around and landed back home. Totally satisfying.

The Seafire Mark III, a fairly popular version, is very similar to the Spitfire Mark V we're getting though I believe if I remember right that they were all C-type wings and that some were even fitted with the more rapid firing Hispano Mark V cannons. Now I need to go and have a look at my books again! 6

Spawn on a light cruiser, and await the order to be catapulted off the side. Fly recon, discover an enemy fleet. Spot for the ship's guns. Maybe attack a submarine or harass ground targets day and night. Best of all, land alongside your ship and manoeuvre into position to be hoisted back aboard. What's not to like?

I am thinking possibly clipped wings & different styles of canopies ?

Plus slap some FAA markings on the Hellcat and Avenger and you have most of the BPF ready to go. The Corsair would still need its wings clipped though.

Outside of that there were changes/modifications done by the British that I suspect would be in line with unlocks on other aircraft; some are small visual and performance changes (like a different mirror or internal armored windscreen for a bit more speed) or large changes like a Merlin 45M (for low altitude performance), clipped wingtips or a 250lb bomb under the fuselage... but I'll be happy regardless of what we get

If you are thinking bubble type canopies that won't happen... they didn't appear until very near the end of the war and certainly not on any type of MkV. Clip wings would be very doubtful as well mate. As to canopies, I'm not sure if the Soviet Vb's used the modified, improved windscreen assembly, which had the integral bullet resistant centre panel... Ah yes I forgot about the Merlin 45 engine! That would be a good addition Just to clarify, the Merlin 45 was a high altitude engine whereas the 45M I mentioned (note the 'M' suffix) was for low altitude. I'm sure one of the guys with info to hand will be able to enlighten us further Just had a quick google search and so far it appears they had the external armored windscreen, e.g.Part of me (the part that likes skinning) hopes that we get the DH prop as an unlock so we can use the right prop with the appropriate historical skins, but that's just me indulging in a daydream
