Virus* Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Hello guys, i am sorry to open a new thread here....but i did a lot of research on google and here without finding anything... Anyaway i am a new Rift user....from two days and i have a lot of problems...i tried it with DCS and it works quite well but with Il2 (Steam Version) i have many troubles because when i launch il2 in VR mode cannot get the Hotas Warthog (or any controller as i tried with xbox one controller as well) to work...inside the game it is not recognized in windows (and other games/sims) yes...without the Rift the game recognize my warthog ok...can you please help me?I have bought the OR only for simming (Il2 and DCS) and one of the main sim i play is not working for me and it seems i cannot find anyone with the same problem. I use the Warthog with a TARGET profile made by myself. If that can help you, when i am in oculus home the xbox one controller is recognized with no problems, but in steam Vr first configuration when it asks me to press Y on my controller it does not..so maybe is steam vr related more then il2 related (also if i tried also Assetto Corsa VR and there the xbox controller works). Thanks in advance for any help
Virus* Posted June 16, 2017 Author Posted June 16, 2017 Just an uodate...now il2 recognized the xbox controller (asked me to map when i started the sim) but still no warthog (only the keys mapped with keyboard works)...really do't understand why
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 (edited) Just a few ideas: - Have you allowed "allow unknown sources" in the Oculus Home software? - You can check the SteamVR "settings" and "Developer settings" for lines regarding the pairing of Controllers - Have you put your power plan to maximum power at all times, and disabled Windows 10's USB power management in power plan settings->USB - Are you using Windows 10 (this seems required according to many accounts) - Do you use any additional USB Extension card and are its drivers up to date (Inateck for example) - Do you plug in the WT and the OR to different USB controllers on your Motherboard (for more information consult your MB's manual) Addendum For example, I bought an Inateck PCI-E Extension card to have an additional USB controller with a seperate power feed for my old MoBo, which is running the Rift + all sensors Edited June 16, 2017 by 1CAG_Fenris_Wolf
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 (edited) Another idea How do you start SteamVR? By itself that always caused issues, especially SteamVR Beta Home is a buggy mess. Do you have a SteamVR plugin integrated into Oculus Home? If you have not, check this out: Google and download the "OTT" Oculus Tray Tool. Unpack, restart Computer (Oculus Home and SteamVR must be off!!!), start OTT as Admin, select "Add SteamVR to Home" -> replace any game you do not use anyway. Start SteamVR, go to settings (on 2D monitor), disable "SteamVR Home Beta". If everything went right, SteamVR is just a blank grid space, like in the Matrix movie. Now the order to start your VR experience without any input being pulled by overlapping apps: 1 Start Oculus Tray Tool as Administrator 2 Start Steam and Oculus Home 3 Go into Oculus Home, start SteamVR (non-beta!) from within Oculus Home 4 Now start IL-2 via Steam Library (on 2D monitor), and make sure it is the selected App on top on your 2D monitor For me this is the way it works. In the OTT you can also select your current power plan (activated when VR app starts) -> maximum power, USB selective suspend -> disabled, and if you got an Inateck card you enable Fresco Registry Tweaks as well. OTT also gives you an alarm (center bottom icon) in case anything is not working correctly. Edited June 16, 2017 by 1CAG_Fenris_Wolf

I have to definitely try your advices because I didn't know about SteamVR to home and SteamVr beta (really new to VR world and also If I have done my homework and knew about OTT for example but many things I don't know yet) For your guide i'll what I already do and not 1) I have oculus tray tool but if I start it as admin (with another user as my gaming user is not admin for my own security choice - I know quite well the security risks due my job) it hangs up if I start as normal user works but probably cannot do its stuff..so i have to look into it 2) OK 3) I didn't know about that....so I will try ASAP 4) OK Thanks again for your help...really appreciated...will report back ASAP. Virus* Posted June 17, 2017 Author Posted June 17, 2017 (edited) Ok i have tried (I have given admin privileges to my user for now for OTT to work) what you adviced me but no changes unfortunately.Only thing is that fresco tweak is not selectable for me (probably i don't have innatek card)As second trial i also tried to connect the warthog directly to the notebook usb ports...did not work as well...but my windows continue to recognize the warthog (in usb devoce control panel i can see my axis and buttons working...are just the steam games that have this problem) Edited June 17, 2017 by Virus*
Virus* Posted June 18, 2017 Author Posted June 18, 2017 Ok guys i solved it...i write here so if someone has the same issue can look into or and solve as well. In the controller option inside steam there was a flagged option regarding steam controller configurator for generic controllers unflagging that solved my problem. Thanks anyway for your help

Virus* Posted June 23, 2017 Author Posted June 23, 2017 I have the same problem...where do you find this option? Open Steam (not steam vr) go into settings/controller and uncheck this option about generic controllers configurator.
