Blitzen Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 I'm getting set up with Oculus today & will be purchasing Voice Attack soon, but I am unfamiliar with the utility. I'm wondering how many key stroke commands can be transferred to VA? Can I program some/all aircraft commands ( start engine ,drop flaps ,autopilot etc.,etc.) and/or voice commands, et al. I like others are concerned about the inability to see the keyboard & don't want to invest in a new HOTAS contoller set up. Your help and or advice very much appreciated.
Thad Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 (edited) Salutations, Voice Attack will provide you with Comprehensive Macro Control. Loops, control statements, variables, token and even plugin interfaces. You can design sophisticated commands to make your flying life easier, or your opponents' lives more difficult. You can assign "any of the games keyboard command(s)" to Voice Attack. The actual process is very straight forward. You will need to train your voice recognition software to clearly recognize your voice. Again... doing this is very easy. Edited June 15, 2017 by Thad
Sokol1 Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 VoiceAttack can map macros in joystick buttons too (up to 2 joysticks).
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 lol wait you buying it?Unless you play lots of game (free version works fine - lets you remap the default commands you just get 1 profile :D)But it works great. (with Voice attack ALL planes can have a parking brake)>> Voice command "Set Parking Brake">> @ start play audio "Parking brake set">> Macro Actions "Press and hold brake button for 60 Seconds.">> @ end play audio "Parking brake Released"Pic of old profile before i cleaned it up.
MajorDogbite Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Voice Attack is fairly easy to set up commands that press a keystroke, press a mouse or hotas button, play an mp3 or even respond with text to speech. Then there are the power user features with can allow for much more sophisticated behaviors. The simple stuff is sufficient for most users. I even use it to control my tv and music library. I added Ivona Amy voice synthesizer for more realictic voice responses. I use the mini-reader all the time, as well. A must have product for any gamer. imo
nessuno0505 Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 I use it and I have purchased it. The price is very low and in the free version you can set only a limited number of voice commands; if you play flight simulations in VR you need a lot of commands and profiles, so it worths buying it. As others said, you can set every kind of command you want. Personally I find tricky to set continuous commands like prop pitch, mixture, radiators or wheel brakes using the voice, so I leave these commands for my hotas while I set by voice on/off commands like nav lights or canopy open/close. The quality of recognition is good (it understands my italian pronunciation so it should be flawless with mother tounge speakers), my only issue was the necessity to change windows language in order to train it (that function is not implemented in italian language).
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 The "script" pattern i use for providing Parking brakes on all planes./? is my brake button60sec time is all i use but can change it.[options to disable before then is just say "Park brake off" release /?

You don't need at 60 sec time entry for the keystroke. The default .100ms is just to make sure the keystroke registers. Once you hit "/" the brake should be on (assuming that is the in game key bind in the game). Then you turn them off with the VA command that matches the in-game key bind for that. That is all you need to do and it should work. I assume your other commands are working in VA. I also assume that I understood your lament.
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 (edited) The brakes on almost all planes in game are not parking brakes(Toggle) but only foot brake(hold).and you must hold them on for them to work. (only P40 and Ju52 have parking brakes)so i set it to Hold for 60 Seconds Simulating a Parking brake. As i just say "Brakes On" and plane brakes locked for 1 minute.if i just left it on 100ms brakes would just turn on for 100msNow i just pull up on runway line in 111.Say "Brakes on" then Set power to 2100RPM and 1.0 ata and let engines spool and stabilize. Then i say "Brakes off" and plane is rolling for T/O then increase last 400rpm and im off. Bilbosmeggins Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Best $10 I ever spent on gaming software... Yes, I'd go along with that too. As simple or as complex as you want/need. And when you're playing in VR it saves having to try to remember which of the 5 million Warthog switches you assigned the command to. Anyone use it when in multiplayer? Might need to disengage it, in case it interprets your chatter and presses the eject button
WWSitttingDuck Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Curious, VoiceAttack vs VAC Anyone used both? I have VAC, and it has trouble with a few of my commands....
