Hey guys, its me yet again sorry for all the questions.

I love bombing in this game, I've just gotten back after being away from playing for a while so I'd like to find out a few things. I generally play LW for the simple fact that I love the HE111 and JU88 (my apologises for stacking but at least i give the reds something to shoot at), always have and they are the side with the bigger bombers afterall (waiting on the a20! :) )

1. I know that in order to calculate the fuel load you need your planes max range and fuel capacity (capacity / max range = consumption then its distance to target(x2) x consumption = litres of fuel required (add some for leeway) right?).

The game gives the fuel capacity but am I missing the max range somewhere? If its not there is there anywhere online thats reliable? I can't seem to see it any where? I noticed the other night that when i got back from my bombing run I still had plenty of fuel with 40% and since i was struggling to reach altitude I'd like to shed as much weight as possible.

2. Sshadow helped on the server with this one but upon reading the wiki I'd like to confirm, on some maps (cold snowy maps generally) the cockpit altimeter (which i set to nearest airfield) differs from my bombsight altimeter by up to 800m, which one should i be inputting data into the bomb computer from?

3. Finally with regard to luftwaffe bombs, what should I be using and when? Should I stick with the SC500 and 4x250s? Or go straight for the 2x 1000's? Or go all out and only use 250's (in the H16). I guess its kinda situational but I'm looking for generally guidelines of when to use what bomb.

I know sorry for all the questions again guys, trying to get to grips with some of the mechanics that confuse me, I've the issue where i want to know as much as possible about what I'm doing haha

Thanks and hope to see you in the skies (unless you are a red fighter on my six, in which case my gunners are asleep and can't shoot for sh*t so please dont hurt me hahaha)

Set the bomb computer using the reading from your cockpit altimeter (set to nearest airfield elevation during pre-flight). I assume that Wiki page you read was Ground Attack, Level Bombing Guide, right? The post mentioned in the guide explains this altimeter choice in more detail. Monostripezebra's video, mentioned in the post, shows the procedure in action (and was the basis for the procedure).

For the max. range, take a look into the aircrafts specifications. There you can find the max. range in 5000m at 300km/h IAS.

Mukai,

I'll tell you what we do:

1. Don't stress over the fuel load out too much 25 to 30% is more than enough. I've been shot, leaking fuel and made it more than half way across the map to home plate.

2. Cockpit altimeter

3. You answered your own question..depends on what you want to hit. Tank bases and other targets with gobs of AAA go for the biggins, 2 1000. 250's/500's work great for removing specific targets and the 50's if you just want to carpet bomb the crap out of an area.

Get with a bomber squad and fly with them with teamspeak as well. Since you like the Blue bombers may I suggest KG4? (shameless plug  :) )

Hey guys thanks for the responses, had a decent bombing run last night with the tips. Just need to practise practise practise now :)

Blackwolf I wanted to join up with you guys (saw the post in the virtual squadron section) but I'm not the best at the moment so if you can deal with a slight newbie in your formation then great! :) I'll be away for the next week however (going on holidays)
