Diamondaxe Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 I've been flying the 110 exclusivly for a few years now on CLOD. It is very apparent that the optimal settings are not similar. I can run full throttle at 2400 rpm and half oil and water rads all day in CLOD. What settings do you use? For cruising on the deck. For climbing. For diving in combat. Do you use the auto prop? In clod the auto prop is useless. It will allow the engine to burn out too quickly. I find it easiest to leave things at full throttle and adjust the prop to keep the rpms low. Also is there an easier way to watch the temps than to look at the gauges? You cant hover your mouse over them like clod and they are difficult to read.
Barnacles Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Use auto prop at all times. BoX has a tech chat message which tells you when you're overheating. If you're not bothered about realism, just have the rads as closed as possible without getting the overheating message. If you do overheat you have 5 mins to drop the temps before there are any consequences whatsoever.
Dutchvdm Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 Hi, I use autoprop and off-course manual rads. It highly depends on which season you're flying but normally oil only needs 25 to max 50 % open during autumn and summer. For winter that's less. closed or 25 % only during climbing or combat. The water radiators have more settings, but tends to get a bit warmer overall. I'm usually 12,5 more open then the oil radiators. Grt M
