Legioneod Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I'm glad that things are moving to north Africa but are yall planning on expanding Normandy area in the future? By expand I mean add more aircraft from different times throughout the war. The map can support a good variety of aircraft and I think it would be worthwhile to flesh it out with later aircraft. I'd really like to see some later variants of the Spitfire and 109 added. I'd also like to see the 190 and some American aircraft like the P-47 and P-51 added. The Normandy map supports all these aircraft in many different variants so I think it be cool to see expansions sometime in the future, and I was just wondering if it was possible that we could see something like this.

Legioneod Posted June 13, 2017 Author Posted June 13, 2017 Please, don't say you want a "K". Never said any such thing. I would like to see some variants such as some of the G models. And some later Spitfire variants like the V. I'd really like to see the P-47 C and Some variants of the D.
Beazil Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 (edited) I am confused by your post. Cliffs of Dover deals with the Battle of Britain in 1940. There will be a North African theater dealing with 1941 in the future - again in Cliffs of Dover, and it will be a payware release. I have not heard anything about development beyond that at this point. Il2 BOX (so far) has dealt with the sieges of Moscow and Leningrad. Time periods include 1941, 1942 and with Kuban's release, some craft from 1943. Eastern Front. There will be a shift to the Pacific theater after that. There are no releases that deal with Normandy from this developer or any of it's sister products (yet). DCS is working on a Normandy map, and has released a scattering of planes (sort of) relevant to that theatre - well, ok, not really - they have two LW aircraft from 1945, a mustang, and a spit9. Is that what you are asking for? Expansion of DCS's Normandy release? Or are you asking for Team Fusion Simulations to do a Normandy title? Edit: Not trying to be advasarial - after all, I'd love to see those planes you identified done professionally by any of the aforementioned studios. I'm just not sure I understand what you are asking for and from whom. Edited June 13, 2017 by Beazil

Clod map includes Normandy so it would make sense to continue to expand the planeset to include the changing war in the air. Just because it is about the battle of britain doesn't mean they can't expand the plane set to include the later air operations that took place over northern France. They already have the map for it.
Beazil Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 (edited) I see. It would be nice. I fully agree. Maybe someday, but let's get TFS going and generating some serious revenue first. And your suggestion might put them in more direct competition with the DCS product, which some might argue would further split the community up. On the flip side I'd love to see TFS blow up the plane set and throw in all kinds of planes into the mix. I know besides the upcoming Dewotine 520, I'd love to see the team's take on an early version 190, for example. Who knows? Edited June 14, 2017 by Beazil
senseispcc Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 (edited) Yes, there is part of Normandy in the COD map but only part of it and yes it should be an interesting development of the game to cover the war from 1941 to 1945 on the west front and should it be a lot of work, yes without any doubts. Do we want it now, no. we players can be patient and invest in project that can take time like per example the COD project? It did take time, we ask question, offer perspectives for a possible future if it is not possible we live with it, some in better ways than others. But all we can do is to give our opinions and hopes. But thanks for the great work already given and thanks for the future. Edited June 14, 2017 by senseispcc
69thSpiritus Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 5.0's planeset should work well for the channel map as well, expanding options outside of BoB. TFS won't be jumping around timelines from early war to late war, but it has been stated elsewhere that if 5.0 is a success and we move to the next release, the number one priority aircraft will be the Fw-190A.

Nice. I don't really want them to jump around. But I think it would be cool to see the plane set expanded as time goes on. That way we can play the war pretty much from start to finish. Thats one of the reasons I think the channel map is so good, because we can see a good bit of aircraft just for that map all the way up to 1944.
