II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 As an accompaniment to my SKINNERS post: Who makes the best tutorials? Requiems thus far seem to be the best. My favorite from the original, however, has to be Dart. I like the whimsy in his YouTube videos. The info is excellent and he makes it feel like you are not an idiot when he gives provides tactics, tips and tricks. Like to see him do videos for BOS as well. Anyone know him? Make sure he gets an invite.
Trident_109 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Check on the Sim HQ site. He posts there.
dburne Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I am sure hoping Requiem is planning to do some, love his work for ROF.
Volkoff Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Ruhland has solid tutorials. I would definitely check out Requiem, Apeoftheyear, and Dart, as well. If I think of others, I will post additional recommendations. MJ 1
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 Thanks, I didn't know about Ruhland or Ape.
Volkoff Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Thanks, I didn't know about Ruhland or Ape. NP, Glad to be of service! MJ

pilotpierre Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Knowing requiems background and having viewed his previous RoF videos, he would be the best man for the job if he's willing. I recall a post sometime ago where he indicated he would give it a go.
Requiem Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 (edited) Even though I don't post on forums very often, just know that I am working on videos for BoS. I can't start putting them out until the function to replay tracks is working at the least, which is why I don't have an intro made yet. I like to use externals to reinforce the concepts, so without that I'm stuck doing all the mundane stuff like making slides and what not. This is not to mention other important things like functioning gauges or controls such as VSI and trim in the Lagg or manual prop pitch in the 109 which aren't implemented either...I'd rather be as close as possible to getting it right the first time than put out videos as soon as possible just for the hell of it. Doing this would probably result in having to constantly readjust things based on what changes occur in BoS, such as FM and cockpit functionality, due to it being alpha. Anyway, here is a short example of the video style I intend to use for BoS, so even though I don't post much you can be assured I am working on them (the cream coloured thing at the top is a projector screen which comes down for film projections). I uploaded this video to my normal Youtube channel, and not the new one I've made for BoS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyFu8XVHfms Edited December 11, 2013 by SYN_Requiem 3

Love the short video example as well, heck that thing is already helping my rookie butt
DeafBee Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Waw Requiem you are the best!! I loved your ROF videos and this one is fantastic. Really a great help and it looks very profesional. Thanks a lot.
79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Love your presentation style. That transition from chalkboard to 'reality' was really classy. Yeah, that really neat!
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 Yes, Requiem Really excellent. Very well done. This is the reason I suggested a central repository in an earlier post for Tutorials. http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/2369-new-topic-suggestion/
II./JG27_Rich Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 (edited) Another good way to learn tactics is read one of the top WWII fighter pilot books. After you're finished you'll be scrambling to the computer chair. Edited December 12, 2013 by II./JG27_Rich
