Mission editor issue not keeping the mission text on save

Hi all

I have been given some missions by Volker so my clan can play mission against the AI, these have been working well except every enemy plane was set to ACE :).

I have loaded the .MSNBIN file into the IL2 mission editor and toned the AI down a little bit, these AI changes have been the only change to the mission, I have them saved it under a new name and its generated all the new files including the .mission file, have moved everything over to the server except the .mission file, when we load the mission up to play the mission description txt is now missing and replaces with <no Name>  (see screen shots), anyone know why this has happened and how to fix it.

Ok, first thing I see is a missing date and time. Is this something that you did or a bug of the editor? It looks like the bug referred here:

https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/29006-time-display-bug/

If you have a friend with win7 ask him to save the mission on his PC.

For the briefing in case you a difrent language than EG, you save the mission open the file missionname.ENG and copy its contents to the rest language files of the mission by deleting whatever they have inside (*.spa *.fra e.t.c.), so everybody can see the briefing despite the language setting in IL 2 . Do not change formatting of text.

This indeed looks like the Windows 10 Creator's Edition bug.

I would check to see if the list file for the mission on the server is 0kb.

If you run your game from one drive, and are doing mission editing at the same time from another drive (so you are not constantly closing editor and the game to test), mission editor will create a 0kb list file.

If this is the case, just open up the mission one more time in ME, and save, and you should have a valid list file.

I think that you might have hit enter on the text which makes any text after that disappear.

Make sure you edit the text in notepad with no enters, and then paste it back.

(Despite the Windows 10 bug, you can change the time of day and date of the mission if you edit and save the .mission file in a text editor, I think. It still won't display in the ME, but it will "stick" and affect the mission itself, I believe.)

That bug was already fixed by MS in a recent patch 2-3 weeks ago.
