Mukai Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Hey guys, I'm running saitek rudder pedals and i mapped the left and right toe brakes in game (with difficulty) but when i go to test i barely touch the pedal and it shoots up to 50% and continues smoothly to 100% as i press down, Does anyone know of a fix for this? In the calibration for my pedals in windows i have no issues, the pedals move smoothly I've attached a screenshot with the slightest touch on the brakes, as you can see it starts at 50% as well as the windows calibration with a slight touch on each pedal.
Mukai Posted June 8, 2017 Author Posted June 8, 2017 I will add that the only way i could get the game to recognise the brake in the first place was by holding down the bake before clicking on the assign control button, then when that screen opens I needed to press and de-press the brake. If i didn't do this then the game did not recognise the input.
Mukai Posted June 9, 2017 Author Posted June 9, 2017 (edited) Ok so i fixed the problem using 1Sascha's fix which i came across after rephrasing my issue in google. Gonna post it here again just incase someone come accross this thread instead. It was quite easy actually, in the end all i had to do was download the software, run it, test out my toe-brakes then hit reset default axis which fixed everything. Big thank you to 1Sascha for pointing out the software!! Original thread: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/22484-ch-pro-pedals-game-doesnt-recognize-one-toe-brake-axis/Fix: Worked it out. In case other people run into a similar problem, here's what I did: Calibrated the pedals/USB-converter in Windows as usual. Downloaded "DXtweak2" and used it to change Windows' calibration-values for the X- and Y-axes. Basically, I made both axes' calibration "wider" by doubling the calibration. The values I used areMin: 1Center: 45Max: 90 Now the stick's input on the X- and Y-axis is read by Windows as full X- and Y-range (from full negative to full positive) - no more "half axes". In the game's mapper, both axes are now recognized and show up "full left" when no brake is applied, "full right" when full brake is applied. I had to set some deadzones to get rid of spiking (I really need to open these pedals and clean the pots, I suppose). But the result looks good now.
