Foobar Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Before I will spend some euros for a capturing software I want to ask what do you use, what does better fit for our purposes and why? I think the two most common ones are Fraps and Bandicam. Both full versions are around 30 euros.
Sim Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 NVIDIA ShadowPlay if you have 6xx or 7xx GTX card. Free, good quality capture and extremely fast (literally no impact on FPS as it's using hardware chip to do H.264 encoding). There is also a feature to always record the last 10-15 minutes and once you had a good dogfight - you hit a button and the last 10-15 minutes are saved to disk. Can't go back to FRAPS after trying ShadowPlay.. 3
=FB=Weeper Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 If you have i5/i7, then you have Intel QuickSync. Mirillis Action supports this technology. I have used this software before, it's have some quality loses compare to FRAPS, but much less file sizes and PC lags.

I think the two most common ones are Fraps and Bandicam. Both full versions are around 30 euros. I remember another topic about video capture programs. Besides payware also some freeware. Fraps, FastStone, DXTory, Open Broadcaster Software, MSI Afterburner, VirtualDub, PlayClaw5, Hauppauge Siena, Bandicam. http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/1457-best-screen-capture-software-captures-audio/ Maybe it helps.
Wolger Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 USing these two: MSI Afterburner Open Broadcaster Software
ATAG_Flare Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 MSI Afterburner is freeware and it does a great job. Fraps is good too.
Foobar Posted December 13, 2013 Author Posted December 13, 2013 Thanks guys, I've bought a Bandicam license after all other recommended programs either don't work with my video card or just didn't fit my ideas.
ITAF_Ale Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 ello everyone, I use the new nvidia, shadowplay, of course only for the nvidia gpu gtx650 on, as it says Sim, has no impact on the performance of the game....
VR-DriftaholiC Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Shadow play if you have a 6 or 7 series nvidia card is AMAZING
mcler002 Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 I must be retarded or something... I use shadow play on bf4 and clod, but I cant get it to appear/ work on il2 bos... am I missing something, i have got the game running full screen >.>...
W_Braun Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 (edited) Same here, I can't get shadowplay to work with unsupported games. Not even if I direct the search to the specific game folder... There's got to be a work around this, like running it without geforce experience or sumthin Edited December 14, 2013 by kimosabi
Sim Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 I have no issues with ShadowPlay and BoS except 5.1/7.1 sound capture. If you are playing with 5.1/7.1 sound setup - the videos captured in external view have a really low volume..

Sim Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 So what r we? missing then >.> im not given the option :'( Not sure... Is the ShadowPlay turned on (need to press a separate button in GeForrce Experience)? Can you test it by turning on, making sure it's on "manual" mode and then bind some key for manual mode capture. You should see an icon in the game on the bottom/right corner if the capture is active. Maybe the key bound is the same as some TrackIR key? TrackIR tends to "capture" keys and not forward to other programs. And double check your other ShadowPlay settings.
mcler002 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 As previously mentioned, I can successfully use shadowplay on clod and bf4. I tried running the game without TrackIR and shadowplay still seems to be unavailable...My key for shadowplay manual is shift + F9My key for Track IR is RControl + / :/
W_Braun Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Hi Kimo Good mornin, Fruitbat. How are ya? Ya, it seems Shadowplay does activate in all games for some, for others it only interacts with supported geforce experience games? Well, doesn't matter really, uninstalled BF4 yesterday and IL-2 & ROF have their own recording function. So I figure I don't need Shadowplay, will do it the old way.

Rivet Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Fraps for me. Can't use shadowplay as I don't have a 6 series card. I can't get msi afterburner to do anything, although it looks like the one to use if only it worked. So basic old fraps it is.
W_Braun Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Yes, Crashfield 4 needed to go. Was tired of all the bullshit

White1 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 (edited) I use Shadowplay and free software from microsoft. This is my first go at this, so please be nice... First the wingman does his jobb and then the wingleader does his. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zKY0gvxejA&feature=youtu.be Check engineflames from the LaGGs engine. I'm about to grow deeply in love with this game... Edited December 15, 2013 by White1

grabilla10 Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Screen capture software permits you to in a split second capture any region or image of the screen. It also furnish the facility for capture animations.
PFR_Bearkiller72 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Bandicam here. Just tried it out and even the 10min + logo version is definetely worth it! :-)
grabilla10 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Screen capture software permits you to record what is occurring on your computer screen and capture better quality pictures. This is the base needed of this class of software.
DD_Arthur Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I've been really impressed with ShadowPlay but what are you guys using to compress the video files before upload to YouTube?
grabilla10 Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Screen recorder software is extremely of great help for capture image and video on your screen. It is very helpful software. I think you should purchase this software.
VR-DriftaholiC Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 If you have Nvidia then go Shadowplay all the way. Otherwise DXTORY is best.
DD_Arthur Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I don't bother. I let YouTube process the file for me. Takes a while but had no problems yet! Yeah but my internet is of the two tin cans and a piece string variety. Sometimes, small woodland creatures bite into it. To upload this was an overnighter! http://youtu.be/l2bg7-9kKW4 1
Static Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) Has anyone used one of these stand alone capture/ recorders? http://www.hauppauge.com/site/webstore2/webstore_hdpvr_rocket-1540.asp Edited March 6, 2014 by Static
AldoUSMC Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I capture with IL-2 Recorder....then go back into review the flight and pick views from whatever object or position I want in the mission replay...and record the "B-Roll" footage with FRAPs. I then assemble, cut, edit, produce, and publish to YouTube using Cyberlink PowerDirector 12 (64 bit). Regards AldoUSMC
Static Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 (edited) Aldo would you mind making a thread about your procedure step by step? It would be a great help. I have always wondered how to take the ingame tracks and process them into video. Edited March 7, 2014 by Static
Jokker Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I think, FRAPS is anyway best gameplay video capture software today... But of course this need also enough good CPU, otherwise Fraps is not good choice... Because FRAPS used also CPU power and can caused this case also gameplay video capture output clips lags (lose game FPS) etc. Simple words, Fraps get out better video visual quality = Output gameplay video capture clips. Some say here also Hauppauge "Video capture card"... So outside is today also other video capture cards (mid-level consumer class) - Example - http://gamerzone.avermedia.com//game_capture/live_gamer_hd what some gamers also used today – But also this video capture card system not can get out better video quality (Max. bitrate value also 1080p / 60Mbps as Fraps video capture softwares can get out (Fraps max. bitrate value is anyway higher as 60Mbps). My opinion Fraps is better choice also this case - If these gameplay clips must example later also converted / video processing. Sorry my weak english.
sturmkraehe Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I use fraps. Worked with any game I ever tried to video capture something from. Allows also to take screenshots. Easy to use. Not so expensive. Once bought you can download any update. Have to be registered. There is also free to use version of fraps but with a watermark and I think limited minutes.
