=SqSq=switch201 Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 (edited) So my plan has been that I will switch which side I fly for each month so that I can maintain my stats while also getting to play for both sides. (since switching sides destroys your stats). Last night I played my last round as Axis but I made a mistake: it was actually the first round of the new month since the server is on Europe time. Now I do not know if I can switch to the Red team without taking a penalty to my stats which really really sucks. Furthermore, there are many members of my squad who will not be switching over to play Red. So there will be times when I want to hop back on the german side to play with them. It just sucks that the game is designed to make it so you can not switch within a given month. I don't even need to mention the problem with team imbalance.... Why not just give players one virtual life per side? other servers do it (like Eagles nest) and there are no problems. why not do it on Wings? Edited June 1, 2017 by =SqSq=switch201
FTC_Riksen Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 I would also like to see something like that implemented. The rank penaulty we suffer from switching sides is very discouraging ...
=SqSq=switch201 Posted June 1, 2017 Author Posted June 1, 2017 What's really our chances of this proposal being heard and a change being made?
KaC_Richard_Rogers Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 It is a shame that you cannot have multiple concurrent identities (pilots) like in Rise of Flight. There you had 3 concurrent identities and you could switch between them as you wanted. Better yet it would be good if the scoring did this automatically. That is, if you are flying Axis your flights/score/kills/deaths are assigned to an axis virtual life and if you are flying allied your flights/score/kills/deaths are assigned to an allied virtual life without having to anything even if you change mid map.
Guest deleted@83466 Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 I would like that too, but I don't think it's going to happen. I think when they designed it this way they thought that if people had only 1 profile name and it was the same as it was on the forum, then there would be less trolls, and maybe that's so. I've often thought that they could have gotten the best of both worlds by allowing the same name with a numeric identifier, like Iceworm-1, Iceworm-2, etc. Being a Stat-whore (or aspiring to that), I know that I would spend a lot more time in less familiar aircraft if this were the case.

Yeah, that is how I figured it work in my head. I have trouble understanding why my proposed implementation seems to work on other servers just fine, but if brought to wings would induce trolling. I think the difference would be fairly negligible. but yeah I think Iceworm is right in that it won't change. Are the Admins of that server still activein these forums at all? I have no idea who they are.
AstrixAU Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 (edited) Just put it back to the way it was and sort player ranking by rating (score). You loose your rank but your rating stays displayed on your profile page. Then more people will be happy to switch when there is a really unbalanced match. Currently after rank it sorts by rating anyway so so why bother sorting by rank at all specially since anyone that flies both looses their rank all together and gets put behind anyone with a rank in the stats. It just breaks the balance of matches as many just don't want to see themselves ranked at 850 for trying to help balance the teams since sometimes it can be 35-13!
