andyw248 Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 I suggest to start with the collection of information about carrier operations as well, maybe in a similar way as aircraft data is now being collected. Potential topics: US NavyDeck equipment - Wires and barriers, and their operation Deck personnel (plane handlers) - Guiding landed planes to their spots Navigation equipment - YE/ZB; kneeboards LSO - Meaning of paddle signals; where in the approach turn would he pick up the plane; handling of fouled deck situations Approach pattern - Distance from boat / altitude / target airspeed at various points of the approach turn IJNDeck equipment - Wires and barriers, and their operation Deck personnel (plane handlers) - Guiding landed planes to their spots Landing mirror/lighting system - What angles, were they adjusted for different plane types? Approach pattern I have some sources that I can contribute, but I'd be curious to see what others have collected. 1
Junjun_Nikurasu Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Posting about this carrier operation makes me falsely hyped for something that will be difficult (for them essentially) to released and pull off, when they are doing Battle of Bodenplatte and the Tank Crew. They might as well do Berlin or the Gustav Line if Europe seem so easy for them to do then the (BEAUTIFUL) Pacific Theater. Well they can also do China, but that what I suggesting thus far.
BOO Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 The post was made when the Pacific was still the next venture. Since then things have changed.
senseispcc Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 (edited) I have found the Following PDF files that are to big to put here on the forum but are a mine of data regarding the end of the Pacific Campaign; Air combat information manual Pacific 1,2 and 3 .
