NETSCAPE Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 In the description field I understand basic html can be used. I want to add graphics for airfield taxi & take off, formation reference and recon photos. What should be the directory for the images? What image formats are compatible? Precise max pixel width? I checked the guides and searched the forum but didn't see anything. Currently I have 1 mission, still under single mission type. But soon enough I will be working with the campaign structure. thanks again guys
Jade_Monkey Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 I used 900x450 PNG images. I think you can put different sizes but that size works well. I'm not sure you can put more than one pic per mission. The directory is the same as the missions.
Sketch Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 (edited) On the same note, can I add audio files to my missions? And if so, what type (*.wav, *.mp4, etc)? And how many audio files can I have? And where do I place the files? I think it would be cool to hear (instead of read): Brambling to Combat Sector: Enemy units sighted in grid 1314.2, vector 210, angels 2. See "Play Audio" on pg. 154 of the editor manual.
NETSCAPE Posted May 28, 2017 Author Posted May 28, 2017 It's too bad you can't adjust the placement of an image with the Translator: Media. I almost rather have taxi/take off info graphic, formation graphic ect pop up during gameplay. Also since there is down time before taxi I put my taxi/take off image in game with Translator: Media. But it zooms in on the image a great deal...no good. This simple task is becoming a headache. But I feel newer players will be lost without the images. A quick glance at an image is way easier for the human brain than reading or re-reading a pile of text.

I see simple 01.png, 02.png and so forth. In the missions themselves I see no html in description for images. In the info.txt i see nothing to do with images either. So I'm assuming the game is coded to use 01, 02, ect .png which will be auto applied when selecting the missions, IF it's a campaign? I really need clarification on this. Standard html in a single mission type briefing isn't doing anything. And the bloody Translator: Media doesn't have enough options for in-game images really, let alone the issue of zooming in I am having... Anyways...waste of time. Time to test a new mission.

No, I made the "The Buthcer" campaign for the 190. Yes, you name the image as a 01.png to go with mission 01. No HTML files needed. Take a look at the sample they provided on how to create a scripted campaign if you havent already: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/168-developer-diary/page-4?do=findComment&comment=424321
NETSCAPE Posted May 28, 2017 Author Posted May 28, 2017 Ok cool, I mixed up you two. I'm relatively new to the community. And by html I didn't mean files per say, but the basic html stuff you type in the briefing description of each missions properties. Yes I have that post book marked already my friend I guess I need a place holder second mission just so I can play with the campaign aspects. It actually seems really straight forward. Anything involving a text config and simple html is great. Reminds me of the good ol days. I'll play with image formats later and see if I can solve the images being zoomed in via the translator media. I'm assuming a different format (yes you can use different file formats it says) or pixel density/resolution is to blame.
