Hi everyone,

I am looking to update my PC. So, I need advice as to which components to use e.g...

CPU, GPU, PSU, Ram, cooling fans...ect. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

PS. I have a $1,500 budget for the new PC.

Assuming reusing case/powersupply:

CPU: Ryzen R5 1600X

GPU: GTX 1080, this one is a good offer it seems https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125869&ignorebbr=1

RAM: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232530&ignorebbr=1 (Ryzen loves RAM speed but is very picky, much more so than Intel chips on both counts so being specific matters here)

Mobo: MSI B350 Tomahawk

SSD: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226855&ignorebbr=1

Fan (1600X has no fan included): whatever you want, but maybe https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835856005&ignorebbr=1

OS: Win 10 of course, $100

Thermal paste: $6

Total price from Newegg: $1423 + shipping (probably free). This would be my pick if I were building a new PC right now on that budget, though I might look at fans and Mobo's a little more. Might be some better options at a similar price.

I just upgraded recently.
Ryzen 1700 (comes with Wraith Spire cooler and thermal paste applied)
Asus ROG Crosshairs VI Hero Mobo
GSkill Trident DDR 4 3200 (2x8GB)
EVGA GTX 1080

$1400 and change.
Re-used PSU, case, fans, hard drives.

So for a small bump in budget you can build a killer rig. Bump that 1080 down to a 1070 to gain some dollars for the PSU. Bump the board down to a B350 model to recover a few more $$.
X370 like I have is for overclocking. (but Ryzen is a snap to overclock on that Crosshair board)

Beasty's suggestion above is good too - I'm just showing you how close you are.
