216th_Jordan Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Hello Guys, I would like to experiment a little with external antialiasing (outside of BOS). With the D3D9 rendered one had to set the Antialiasing Conpatibility bits to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. etc. in the Nvidia Inspector profile editor. However now, with the D3D11 renderer this does of course not work anymore. Is there anyone who has found a solution to deal with this and force different antialiasing methods on Il-2? (Not talking about sparse grid supersampling) Thanks, Jordan
LLv24_Zami Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Doesn`t all Nvidia AA options work if you just set Antialiasing-Mode to Enhance the application setting? No need to change anything else. At least it used to work earlier, have not tried it with 2.010.

=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Yes most games fully ignore enhance or override settings 8/10 times you need Nvidia Driver inspector like OP has.And no there is no correct DX11 compat bits to make anti aliasing work with IL2 force from control panel its still as of now IMPOSSIBLE.(tho a few think that have done it but they turned on SGSSAA but also FXAA at same time and that only Anti A they seeing.)You can ONLY force FXAA Via the control panelOrTXAA, SMAA, FXAA Via a post injector like reshade or sweetfxI Recommend Reshade and using SMAA Ultra preset (Approx same quality as MSAA 8x, but fps cost of 1x)Or you can if on 1080P Monitor Force the game to run in 4K Nvidia DSR which is smooth and need no anti aliasing on a good 24" 1080P monitor

Beazil Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Thanks for this discussion - I thought I was the only one having this issue. I will check out my options under reshade.
