Still having fps drops. Any ideas

So I oc'd my 2600k to a stable 4.7ghz. Still have 16gb ram ddr3@1600mhz and gtx1070. In high setting with 2xaa, land distance at 3x, no ssao, no hdr, fps unlimited, land sharp. I'll have a minimum of 165 fps at takeoff or around a lot of planes over an enemy airfield. Flying around it'll sometimes hit 300 fps if I turn off hud. But still every now and again I get a drop to 50 to 75 fps which causes stutter just for a second. Albeit not near as bad or as often as I have had on the past. Msi afterburner shows the only thing that might be getting tapped out is my ram. Could ram speed be causing my issue? It doesn't hit higher than in the 80 percent usage range of the ram but is that enough to cause this? Any thoughts would be appreciated. I'm playing SP campaign.

i've only had stutters in this game in one particular situation and not on any other.

when i first spawn in a plane and look directly back to the right it stutters once, then when I do the same to the back and left it happens again.

only these two times every sortie. so i pretty much do that as part as my pre-flight checklist.

i use OpenTrack.

maybe it can be related to it??

Salutations,

Try turning 'off' Vertical sync in the game and setting it to 'fast' in the Nvidia Control panel.

Thanks people I'll try both. I believe it may be the head tracking when doing a hard left or right check as 19//SAG said. V sync is off and it's not fullscreen. But I will check the nvidia CP. I believe it's turned off.

I also started to have massive drops with the last update. Before I had a constant 100+ FPS on maxed settings and now I get around 30 FPS when manouvering at medium altitude with about 8 aircraft in the area (single player). I even disabled the sharpening filter and set mirror detail to minimum. My rig includes:

Windows 10

Intel Core i5 7500 @ 3.4 GHz

Nvidia GTX 1060 (3GB)

8GB RAM @ 2400 MHz

500GB SSD (with about half of the space free)

Distant landscape option needs more Vram now. Try lowering it from 3 to 2.

You guys did try turning off the hud? "h" key while in game, if not.

Were the Moscow airfield optimisations added with the last patch?  I'd stopped using the Moscow map as the performance hit when taking off was so severe I became worried I would damage my computer.  It'd be great if I can use it again, as I've got those sweet Ju-52 missions of Gambit's to get through.

I don't think so, I get problems on the Moscow map.

Jason said that the Moscow map is not optimized like the stalingrad one, something to do with the airfield textures, but they are working on it.

Have you tried disabling Startup.config ( & saving it of course- I just put a " - " in front of the file,) in the game's "Data" folder & allowing Steam to re-install it?You'll have to re-do all your Graphic settings when you start the game, but that's pretty easy. This solution was suggested in another post & I tried it because I had the same problems after the last two updates. This easy to do solution worked for me.
