E69_geramos109 Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Hello. I noticed recently that the temperature warning appears quite ofter in some strange situations. I mean, even in cruse mode 1.15 ata the oil temperature warning apears sometimes, more often in winter maps and in hight alt. I think i know where is the problem and i want to ask devs if is possible to solve it. The 109 radiator has automatic mode and on the sim is modelled like that. You can use manual mode but the oil radiator is not possible to manage it in manual mode and that radiator was manual operated by a yellow stick you can find near the gas comands. I think that on winter maps with low temperatures the radiator is almost closed and what happens is that the auto mode is closing to much the oil radiator. You can solve it changing in manual mode and opening the colw flaps by yourself but it generates extra drag and low too much the water temperature.
Barnacles Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Yes, it happens to me too. I usually manually open the radiator for about ten seconds or so then put it back in auto.
Yogiflight Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 I fly without HUD, so I can't get those messages, but I never had any issues with overheating 109s, even in the missions i was flying lately on the Stalingrad map in August 1942.
Barnacles Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 I fly without the hud alot too, and I assume that I've been ignoring an overheating message or ten. I've never had engine damage so in my experience you can ignore it.
Blutaar Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 This is not an overheat message, its just the same message you get in russian planes when you reach high temps but within the limits, just a little reminder, you can ignore it. The real overheat message is when the Thermostat icon apear and not the normal warning message, hope that helps.
FTC_Riksen Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 (edited) The G2 overheats in winter maps within like 10 min after engaging 1.3 ata. This is probably related to the issue geramos is talking about Edited May 23, 2017 by Riksen
Blutaar Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 I used the G2 minutes ago in stalingrad autumn and no overheat, just the warning you get when the engine reaches a higher temp, its not the real overheat destruction timer.
Matt Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 (edited) Can anybody please post a track or video of this bug. Because i keep trying to reproduce it (this topic keeps popping up every few weeks) and i never encountered this bug. Just flew around for 30 minutes in a G-2 on the Stalingrad winter map with full throttle and it definately never overheated at any point during that flight. Edited May 23, 2017 by Matt
E69_geramos109 Posted May 24, 2017 Author Posted May 24, 2017 I will upload a video about that becuase you can find the isue even in wierd situations like going 1.1 ata in winter
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 (edited) Last month I was flying 109s and also remember this orange icon about temps to show up in winter missions (temp on gauges were ok). I made some screenshots but forgot to post it bug section. This month I m flaying only VVS so this bug is still there after new patch? Edited May 25, 2017 by 307_Tomcat
