First, thanks to the dev team for adding support for Tacview, yet another great improvement in this already great sim.

For the moment, I only manage to see the starting and ending position of planes, with no progression in between, while the ribbons are there on the ending state, so the information is there.

No color for faction either or events listed.

Does anyone have any other result?

Anyway , a good first step,

I can see the progress (hit play bottom left, or middle mouse and dreag?). No faction color, no terrain. Also, tacview should make new models that are not jets, since DCS and IL2 are now supported.

How do you implement?

It didn't come with this patch it was there one or two versions earlier already. Besides No color for faction, no events listed, no bullet streams, it shows pointing the lift vector in the wrong direction sometimes (aircraft attitude), which is probably the biggest issue - but great feature nonetheless!

Just download the free version of tacview. Then record a flight in game with the record key.

This will generate a file in the Tracks folder that can be opened with tacview.

I downloaded and it seemed to work, it even showed ground vehicles. Not a tv expert so not really sure what it is *supposed* to look like. No it doesn't show bullets hope that is fixed.

It works okay but as others have mentioned the following issues are still outstanding:

- no colour for faction

- aircraft type only appears sometimes

- no weapons shown

- lift vector bugs

I wish this team wasn't so hostile to outside help, I'd love to contribute a patch.

Remember to upgrade tacview to the newest version.

At that time, there is no official version of Tackview which support IL2. That's why there are many things missing. We have to wait a tackview version wich fully support IL2. There was some words about that in a previous devdiary, where they said they worked on the map for tackview.

Shows tacview the correct speed(tas)?

If you navigating you could maybe change to TAS but for seeing how a plane is flying properly or not it must be IAS

When I go to this folder there is only TRK files and no files that can be opened with Tacview. Suggestions appreciated.

(1) Have you modified startup.cfg to "tacviewrecord=1" (see here: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/29432-tacview/?p=487829).

(2) Some MP servers have disabled tacview :( :( :( Because, apparently, if this is enabled, some people, confusing this simulation with some sort of way to pathetically, desperately, and ineffectually prop up their deservedly burst-pimple-stain of egos, use this TacView to cheat ... so the rest of us have to suffer.

1) yes, as of the latest patch, you have to modify the config file

2) I agree, it's SAD!

Sad but needed to prevent exploiters

Copy that. I will modify the config. Thank you.

Is WoL a server known to have disabled Tacview? How is cheating accomplished with Tacview?

As I understand it, it can be used to find the positions of all aircraft on the map. Edited by hrafnkolbrandr

Ah yes. I did have a moment of realisation 10 minutes after I posted that question.

Sorry for seeming a bit daft, but where is the cfg file? I can't see it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Tacview

Your IL2 config is where the option needs to be set.

I'm loving the new features with Tacview - keep up the good work!

So servers that have Tacview disabled still allow to record and generate .trk files. Is there a way to trigger the .acmi file export after leaving the server? That would prevent misuse and would allow the intended use of Tacview.
