Bearfoot Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Eager to check out the TrackView in today's update (THANKS DEVS!!!!!). How do I get rid of the "rec" indicator in the above right hand corner when making a flight track? Ruins the immersion!
216th_Jordan Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 You can't. It never bothered me yet (I record all my flights)... maybe ask for it in the questions for developers thread.

Thanks -- done. I only really started to make tracks (or want to make tracks) with the TacView support, and these fresh pair of eyes find that REC thing ugly and distracting ... especially in VR! Bearfoot Posted May 12, 2017 Author Posted May 12, 2017 Does hiding the HUD remove it? I cant remember. Unfortunately, not. I have the HUD off by default.
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 it used to work hiding it by pressing the H key try the I if that dont work?
Bearfoot Posted May 13, 2017 Author Posted May 13, 2017 it used to work hiding it by pressing the H key try the I if that dont work? At least in VR, "H" toggles the HUD, but the "REC" indicator stays on regardless of whether or not the HUD is on or off.
KG200_Volker Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Propably you do so kind of after processing to your videos, one a way is to add some watermark over it, most programs even free ones provide this function. Example, see on top right: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1_JYHtB4Y-w
Bearfoot Posted May 13, 2017 Author Posted May 13, 2017 Propably you do so kind of after processing to your videos, one a way is to add some watermark over it, most programs even free ones provide this function. Example, see on top right: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1_JYHtB4Y-w Thanks. As I indicated, however, the motivation here is not so much to make videos, but rather for TacView, and the issue is not with it showing up on the track, but the distraction and loss of immersion while actually flying. Especially in VR: VR allows you to get so much closer to the "smell" of the cockpit, but then there is anachronistic/incongruous hi-tech looking red digital characters in your FOV that busts up that effect every time you happen to glance in that direction ...
-TBC-AeroAce Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Does the rec icon show in the play back? If it does not then it is kinda irelavent
