dburne Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 I know it is not just for VR, but I have to express also my appreciation here for today's 2.010 update. In VR, texture shimmering is a very noticeable thing as everything is pretty much 1:1 scale. With the new AF option , I set to to Sharpen, and wow what an incredible result. Even running with distant terrain at x4, it was beautiful and the shimmering was all but eliminated. It truly looks fantastic! And if it cost me anytning in performance, I sure can't tell it - in fact it appears I actually gained a little in performance if anything. With Ultra settings and my Pixel Density at 1.6, I am maintaining 90 fps the majority of the time, even flying low over terrain like landing approach. Drops into ASW in heavy combat with many planes or on runway. And the mirrors look and work great. I set to complex mirrors, and flying the Yak-1b they worked very well and with very little performance hit. Certainly not enough to want to keep them turned off like one might in other sims. They did an incredible job on this update and a great implementation on the mirrors!
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 I noticed that in beta Don, it sure feels like it running very smooth for me as well. I wasn't much help in testing FM's but I did what I could and its nice not to HAVE to turn off the mirrors! It just keeps getting better.
HunDread Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Good news thanks for sharing. Now I just have to wait till tomorrow night to try :/
SCU_Server Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 Unfortunately the new patch seems to have cost me heaps in performance, I have made no changes to the in-game settings and in VR now Im getting 56-59 fps HUD off or on, it doesn't make a difference, where as before this patch and the original VR patch I have always had 89 with the HUD off and 55-59 with the HUD on. I tried Sharpen on droped the terrain detail to "Normal" and it makes no difference at all just sits at 55-56 FPS....Bugger not sure where to look next for my lost frames, I'm running a i7 6700k at 4.709mhz and Nvidia 1080P Stephen
SCU_Server Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 Update, so far it seems online play only gives me the lower frame rates, if I play offline missions I get back to 89 fps with the HUD on or off.

It changes from server to server. Its really up to the mission maker and the max ping allowed on the server I believe from what little I know. Edited May 14, 2017 by TunaEatsLion
