Number of Ju52 owners/pilots?

Just trying to get a rough idea on how likely the C-47 or the Russian version of said aircraft are for being put into the game. From my pov, the Ju52 is my favorite aircraft in the game right now, simply because it adds a functionality that really no other combat flight sim has done. Which is cargo and troop transport aircraft. Its something I highly enjoy doing in games such as this, and with the C-47 being my #1 all time favorite aircraft ever, my hopes for getting to fly one in IL2 are rather big ever since the Ju52 was added.

 

I know a lot of people would rather get into a fighter and use that in a combat flight sim, but there are always a few who would drop everything and fly supply missions, just like the dedicated combat medics or supply truck drivers/helo pilots in some FPS games. =P

 

So yeah, does anyone know how likely it is for getting the C-47 Skytrain?

I own the Ju-52 and like to fly it every once in a while. But would not call myself a true Ju-52 pilot. Would buy the C-47, but would also buy a flying toaster just to support the team.

I own it and fly it every now and then. Few very good missions by Gambit made me to fly Tante Ju again, they can be found here: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/28858-single-player-ju-52-missions-gambit-21/ . It`s fun change from fighters and bombers.

I asked Jason for any comment he can give on the Ju 52's success/failure because so many people find it relevant and are interested but I never heard anything back.

 

Detailed sales figures are unimportant and should understandably be guarded but a simple "The Ju 52 was successful enough that we're trying to find a place where the time/resources line up for an Li-2." or a "The Ju 52 wasn't as successful as we'd hoped but we're still open to considering additional releases time/resources permitting." would be really nice.

I'd like to build the Li-2, but finding the time and resources is difficult. We simply need more sales to build everything we want. The Li-2 as with the Ju-52 is a huge project. Time will tell. When I have something new to say on the subject I will.

I'd like to build the Li-2, but finding the time and resources is difficult. We simply need more sales to build everything we want. The Li-2 as with the Ju-52 is a huge project. Time will tell. When I have something new to say on the subject I will.

I got one tante Ju in my virtual hangar. I'm more then willing to buy anything that has a prop,two or more, and can fly.I have complete set of aircrafts released so far and looking forward to extend my collection further. Satan Clause/Ded Maroz will be generous this year with kobrushka and Boston

I have to second Space_Ghost on this recommendation.  In VR, you will experience something very different than what we have seen in the game so far......  You really owe it to yourself to try out Gambits Pelicans missions.

Bought the Ju-52 and love it. I don't fly it all the time but it's great for chilling out on a relaxing sight seeing flight. It's also my son's favourite plane. He likes flying it in the 1CGS livery.

In regard to online gameplay all I can say: It is not much fun alone, but having a formation of Ju52s for a joint paradrop is great fun.

Have it, and love it. I don't fly it as often as I'd like in MP because of a (relative) lack of maps that support it, and the usually more pressing need for someone to provide Stuka-shaped target practice for  the Russians - But I adore it. Would buy any additional transports the team might release, and hope against hope for the Catalina - but I have a well documented thing for ungainly, odd and eccentric machines.

Have the Ju-52 here too. Not having all the available A/C would seem like my sim was incomplete. I might not always be in a position to do so, but I would definitely purchase a C-47 and it's licensed build Russian counterpart. As recently as 10-12 years ago I'd see a DC-3 flying over my place on a fairly regular basis. Haven't seen it in years.

I need to get some flying in...haven't flown in months...and months.

Need to take this 4K monitor and Ryzen 1700 for a spin (testing my missions on autopilot isn't the same)

 

I'll add another mission or 2 in the foreseeable future.

If I don't boot up the editor on a regular basis I'm liable to start forgetting things.

No need to feel quilty, sounds like you really need some flying time. Game is gorgeous after latest patches!

Now...a little bit of info...apparently, DCS has a mod that gives you a DC-3/C-47. I just tried it out, and as far as the flight model goes, its pretty fun. The textures and such however are um...lets say they're a "wip" lol

 

Time to step up your game IL-2! We need a C-47 in game soon before everyone goes elsewhere!

 

 

 

I keed I keed. To be honest though, the DCS mod is only to hold me over till you guys add the old gal in for us players. I know you guys will do a MUCH MUCH better job anyway. ^-^

 

I'll be honest though, even I wasn't expecting this many players to have the Ju52 or even be interested in flying her! And even missions! =O

Gonna have to download and try some of those out from the looks of it. I'll have to wait til I get head tracking though tomorrow. =P

Dev, pls dont bother with another transport plane request that cannot justify its development cost.

 

JU52 is a prime example of ppl not putting money where their mouth is at. We dont need another one.
