Thoughts on 109 CEM ....

At the moment the 109 allows Start u. Notleistung up to 1.42 ATA on the throttle but the guide says that this should only be for just 1 minute and that normally the engine should operate at 1.15 ATA and 2300 rpm. Obviously most pilots will fly on auto but ...

I don't know if you guys have tried, but that limit's actually rather difficult to keep to, esp. if you are moving the throttle around in a dogfight. Are we going to see a lot of damaged Messers due to engine pressure or Messers holding back from full power out of caution?

I do hope so.

I wonder how the devs will implement damage for those powering around at 1.42?

1.15 is maximum continuous power setting (i.e for cruising etc) , 1.30 is for climb and combat power (for 30 mins), 1.42 emergency power for 1 min.

I'm sure they'll get this right for 109 and other planes too.

Ah OK. Thanks.

So we just have to get a Messer to ram the throttle forward for a minute :)

These time limits are there to ensure the longlivety of the engine. Exceeding it doesn't necessarily lead to instant engine failure.

I'm more concerned about not being able to use Steig-/Kampfleistung (1.30ata, 2500 rpm) at the moment. This would be the most common setting to use in climb and combat. Hence the name, I guess. But in game, engine set up is different.

Still much to do for the developers with regard to the 109, if they want to sell BoS as a simulation game.
