Gambit21 Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 Just rebuilt my system and "upgraded" to Windows 10...yikes, give me Windows 7 back. Anyway, the game will no longer launch, either from it's original location or when dragged to my C drive. I get a .dll error. I was under the impression that BoS could be dragged around as easily as RoF. Any help appreciated.
AndyJWest Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 Most likely 3rd party stuff not installed, I'd think. 3) Can I make a copy of the game folder and move it to another PC?Yes, it can be done. After the game is installed:- copy the entire IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad folder and paste it where you want it- install all necessary 3rd party software from ...\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\updater\3rd_party\- start the game using ...\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\game\Il-2.exe, or Launcher.exe files From https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/2074-#faq3
Gambit21 Posted May 10, 2017 Author Posted May 10, 2017 Thanks Andy, I'd seen that but didn't get the "3rd party" since when I copied the link it simply took me to the il2 webpage. I'll give it another whirl.
Gambit21 Posted May 11, 2017 Author Posted May 11, 2017 I got it working, my error. For some dumb reason I kept reading the "Sturmovik/data/updater/3rd party as something that was on the site, even though it clearly indicates the file path. Just a bonehead brain freeze on my part.
Lusekofte Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 For some dumb reason I kept reading the "Sturmovik/data/updater/3rd party as something that was on the site, I was thinking is that possible? I read what you said here and went on to the link and copied the file direction on the webadress........ I think it must be instinct....
