[_FLAPS_]Grim Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Hi all,I like the ground attack role, flew a lot of 110 sorties but in the last time I prefer to JABO.With the FW 190 I dont have much trouble with it, but I smashed 109s a few times in the ground.Do you guys know at which speed the controls of the 109 E-7 lock so you cant recover from a dive?Whats your prefered Jagdbomber tactics and settings?cheers
Dutchvdm Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Hi, Like to do JABO sorties as well. I start at high (+3km) and as i approach the target i start with a steep dive, but also change steepness of the dive. This way the AAA can't get a solid bearing. After the first drop i go home if target is defended heavily with AAA. Otherwise i make some more passes with my cannons. Grt M
Barnacles Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Paul, adjust the horizontal stabilizer to trim your nose up. Hold the nose down in your dive. You should then be able to pull out of the dive by pulling back on the stick. 2
Inkophile Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Paul, adjust the horizontal stabilizer to trim your nose up. Hold the nose down in your dive. You should then be able to pull out of the dive by pulling back on the stick. This. This is the proper (i.e. per real 109-manuals) method of performing and pulling out of a dive. Trimming the horizontal stabilizer is far more controllable than the elevator ever will be (which either provides near no effect at all, or produces WAY too much, depending on speed), and should be trimmed so that the plane automatically will pull out of the dive as soon as you release pressure on the stick. 2
