Hello!

I am hosting my own server on my machine and I can connect and play my own multiplayer mission.

However, my buddy tries to connect and he gets a 10019 error.

I haven't found a clear description of the error or how to fix it.

Any clear knowledge out there?

Salutations,

Are you running with your own special DServer account in its own seperate directory?

Ensure that your chosen multiplayer mission 'list' file actually lists and points to all the needed and correct files and also to the proper directory for the mission location.

My DServer is in:

Program FIles (x86) > 1C Game Studios > IL-2 Battle of Moscow > Bin > Game > DServer.exe

My Game is in

Program FIles (x86) > 1C Game Studios > IL-2 Battle of Moscow > Bin > Game > Il-2.exe

So, it seems to me both are in the same directory, but I log into both with two different accounts.

I will check the directory and mission files.

What is the "LIST" file and where may I find it, please?

I have found the list file and am editing it!

That part will be fixed to point to the correct location. Thank you!

I am still not sure if I need to put my DServer in an entirely new folder or what?

Highway I actually have two seperate installs, one for the game and one for Dserver

The DServer location that you gave above is where the DServer that is included with IL-2 Sturmovik is already. Did you download the additional stand-alone DServer (which is run from a free, striped-down version of IL-2 Sturmovik)? You need the stand-alone DServer if you want to run IL-2 Stormovik and the DServer at the same time on the same PC. For details, see "Install and Update a Multiplayer Mission Server" on pg. 167 of the editor manual.

Just to add my grain of salt (a bit late though) :

I don't have any stand alone DServer installed anywhere, only the one included by default in the "bin" file in my steam install, and I can host and play on the same computer without any issue.

This goes for both of my computers.

Interesting. How long have you been able to do that Gruber?

Approximately a year or so.

Approximately a year or so.

I ran a test with the DServer that comes with IL-2 Sturmvovik. When I try to join the server, I get a 10019 error and the server stops. Can you give more details on your setup that works please Gruber, such as whether you are using identical accounts for IL-2 and DServer and maybe some of your DServer config settings (not IP of course).

Well, first thing is that this is a steam install, So that may make a difference.

I do have separate accounts for DServer and IL2 (is it possible to have both on the same email adress ?)

settings in the SDS file are :

- max client ping : unlimited

- Shutdown loads : unkimited

- Server IP : External

- DL limit : 4096

- UL limit : 2048

- DL port : 28100

- TCP/UDP : 28000

Other than that I just had to create the couple rules in my internet router to open 28000 and 28100 ports and voilà, It worked first time and still does today.

If you need some other infos, just ask but be prepared, I'm a noob when it comes to network stuffs so you'll probably have to be patient and explain a lot  :happy:

Thanks Gruber. How did you obtain the separate account that you use for the DServer?

I have an install from the 1CGS website so I can run IL-2 or the DServer that came with IL-2 using the same account; I just can't run them at the same time, otherwise I get the 10019 and server shutdown ( the DServer interface remains up though).

That was in the instructions mail I received from 1CGS after I made my demand for the DServer key :

To get an account that would allow you to host a dedicated server you need to follow these simple steps:

1. Create a new account at il2sturmovik.com using a new email that you haven’t yet used for this purpose;
2. Make sure that you’ve never activated an IL2BOS key on this account;
3. Go to "License keys" page in your Profile;
4. Paste the key into the "Key Activation" field;
5. Press the "Activate" button.

So, it looks like the options are as follows:

- Run the DServer that came with IL-2, using your IL-2 account email/password.

  With this option, you cannot run IL-2 and DServer at the same time, otherwise you get a 10019 error in IL-2 and your server stops.

- Run the DServer that came with IL-2, using the email/password for a free IL-2 account that you request from 1CGS.

  With this option:

    - You can run IL-2 and the DServer that came with IL-2 at the same time.

    - You can also download a free, stripped-down version of IL-2 that comes with a separate DServer (see next option).

- Run the separate DServer that you obtained from 1CGS, using the email/password for the free IL-2 account.

  With this option, you can run IL-2 and the separate DServer at the same time, on the same PC or on two different PCs.

It still remains to be seen what other causes there are for the 10019 error.
