Mini Map?

Cannot get the mini map only the full size briefing map. I have mini map condensed tick box enabled in the game interface, my level set to expert. Manual says press M but nothing. If I press the enable briefing key I briefly see the mini map but then the briefing map fills the entire screen.

 

How do you access the mini map?

Open difficulty setting and enable "Instrument panel". This is disabled in expert mode.

Thanks, I can now get the minii map in quick mission by enabling the Hud but the only map I can get in MP is the Briefing map which fills the entire screen.   I am guessing that this is because of server settings (Wings of Liberty and Random Expert) which do not allow the mini map.

This is correct. "Expert" mode disallows the minimap that "normal" mode provides. Additionally, Random Expert + disallows the GPS you get on Wings of Liberty.
