Lag issue? Invurnable 109 disappears completely when recorded.

I just had a rather strange encounter on WoL server. Some people were reporting bad lag but I never experienced this kind of behaviour before.

 

So one Yak and two I-16 are fighting a 109. The 109 dives toward ground but pulls out just before trees. After that it is making continous horizontal turn and the Yak is firing at him around 150 meters. 109 shows no signs of damage. I get close to the turning 109 and at 50 meters empty my wing machine guns. Not a single shot seems to land on the 109. The other I-16 also fired couple of bursts but nothing seems to damage the 109.

 

I made a record when I was firing because it felt so odd to miss at such a close range. But when I watched the record there was no 109. Me and teammates are just flying in circle and shooting in the air.

 

Could it be due to lag that people were reporting? Somehow I got a feeling that during that hard pull near ground the 109 actually crashed but for others it seemed to still be alive. After the hard pull the 109 was making just a continous turn, nothing else.

Yes I was there I can confirm. My teammates was watching and commenting this too. One of them was recording​ it, I ask him to share video if it helps.

I had a similar issue with a yak a couple of days ago. I watched the track but the yak I was firing at was already crash landed when I watched the track, making it look like I was just shooting at nothing during the flight. Also, for some odd reason, the yak was labelled with the nickname of my team mate who was flying with me instead of the yak player ...
