Just updated to v2.09,  been a while since I last launched BOS but Freetrack worked then.

No forum search facility so can anyone confirm wether Freetrack is still supported?

I have set 'old_Trackir = 1' in the startup cfg file and using the Trackir output interface in freetrack but no headtracking (works flawlessly in CloD)

IIRC you must use opentrack now, freetrack does not work anymore.

Thanks and what a shame.    No BOM or upgrades for me then!

Why though? All what I heard is that opentrack is better in almost every way.

i cannot get Opentrack to work anywhere near as well as Freetrack.    I probably need someones Opentrack profile for BoS that I can use  as a starting point,  at the moment the translations are all over the place - I look left and opentrack looks right, then up then down......lol.

I can get you a profile to try with OT. What camera are you using, and IR or regular LED's?  Opentrack no longer works with facetracking.

Thanks, that would be helpful. I use a PS3 eyecam and have both a three point clip (vertical) and a hat type clip (but minus the hat as the three IR leds are mounted on top of my headphones not on a hat).

So I can use either depending on how your profile is set up.

Are you implying that you're going to invest that money in proper hardware like TrackIR or are you implying that you're completely unwilling/unable to do the work to get things working?

Okay, here are two profiles that I use. Just delete the ".txt" and place in the OT profile folder. If you could make a short video showing what OT is doing it would help with getting it working. Here are a couple of links with videos on setting up OT and calibrating it.

Calibration:

Set-up:

2.3.0 test.ini.txt

2.3.1.6 pre rel.ini.txt

TL;DR

iirc freetrack used some files from TrackIR, and the TrackIR guys finally pulled the plug and stopped that.

They insisted that people use TrackIR Hardware with TrackIR software. (How dare they)

So 1c/777/BoX does have nothing to do with it at all.

thanks for not buying!

So long!

Many thanks Gramps.

As for the other members questions,  there would be no point in buying any software that I cannot use, the last time I used BoS FT worked fine.   I have a perfectly good headtracking system with Freetrack and it works with the software I mainly use but I have struggled to get opentrack to work as well.     If, with the help of Gramps files and links to videos, I get Opentrack working to the same standard as Freetrack then great - I can try the latest version of BoS and see where that takes me.

Your are welcome. If you have any questions regarding OT please feel free to ask. I have been using OT for well over a year and although it can be tough getting everything to work right, in the end it is worth the effort.

Thanks Gramps,  I am making progress with your kind assistance.     The first thing that I noticed using the video you posted, was that my version of Opentrack did not have an octupus for visuall representation of head movement,  it had a small baseball cap with three leds which was utterly useless for setting up.  It never at any point represented looking dead ahead and whenever I tried it in Clod I had launcher crashes.   It was V 1. something.     Anyway, I downloaded OT V2.3 and this works in both CloD and BoS which is a huge step forward.

At the stage of tweaking now,  OT doesn't feature flightstick axis enabling/disabling like FT (I control wether to have Z axis and y axis 'on' or 'off' from my Throttle control) but you can hold dead centre so that will suffice.

Once again, many thanks Gramps......... :good:

Great! I think I'll post your comment about having hot-keys to enable/disable axis on the OT page. Developer is always interested in ideas to improve OT.

Edit: Heard back from the developer who would like to know what use-case exists for this. I'll pass-on any comments you may have. I've never come across a time I thought it was necessary, but you never know.
