TheHighwayman Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 I want to hold a contest for just for the hell of it, to see what people might do. While talking about custom skins with my squadmates, we started to joke about overdoing the nose art and that became a discussion about lowrider art and so on. I wonder what a 109 would look like if it were "pimped," or basically fitted with chrome, gold and silver trim, and looked more like a Rolls Royce or Cadillac than a combat fighter. So just for fun, I'd like to throw the idea out there for folks to design and submit playable skins (single player only) with outlandish designs --pimped or chromed, as you might say. Just to see what's out there. Good luck if you decide to try! 1
BlackHellHound1 Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 Interesting idea. However, I won't be joining. Got far too much work to do on my 4K Fw 190 A-5 template and it is not even close to my kind of thing. Regardless, there is one major problem. Due to how the game works, It is not possible to make shiny metals like chrome, gold, and silver. In fact, polished aluminium isn't possible. The skins would still be quite matt. Even at the highest possible sheen. BlackHellHound1
Original_Uwe Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 Whatchoo talkin bout foo? My 109 gon be da most cholo ride on the east side homes. We're gon have the line green paint, wit da murals of our Aztec ancestors. Put some blunts by the cockpit and flames...vato you don't even know magn. 2
TheHighwayman Posted April 29, 2017 Author Posted April 29, 2017 Even if it isn't usable, it might still be pretty cool to check out! Word.
TG-55Panthercules Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Maybe I'll give it a try sometime. The concept sorta reminds me of the first skin I ever did - an SE5a skin for RoF based on my (then newly acquired) Jaguar S-Type: 1
TheHighwayman Posted April 29, 2017 Author Posted April 29, 2017 Love the Jag emblem. What a sweet ride!

The concept sorta reminds me of the first skin I ever did - an SE5a skin for RoF based on my (then newly acquired) Jaguar S-Type: I bought of those too ten year ago - the S-Type that is, only a Dark Royal blue, BRG being out of stock. Still have it and it still turns heads: best looking car I have ever owned, except possibly the Austin Healey.

unreasonable Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 One of the 1960 vintage or the 2000 one? The Jag was the new version, from the initial run, the later ones were not quite so pretty. (The Austin Healey was the 1959 version - already somewhat beaten up when I bought it in 1982). I like my cars curvy!

I wouldn't be surprised if you spent like 3 times the new price to get it working fine. It's a beauty though.
