Riderocket Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 (edited) As of the latest patch, I've noticed on the Wings of Liberty Server, and the IL-2 Australia Server, that whenever i hit something with bombs and/or rockets, nothing happens. but when i check my map, i notice my plane icon is still about 40-60 seconds away from the target, but its not until my plane icon on the map gets there that those ground targets i hit get destroyed. likewise, flak doesn't shoot at me, but it shoots where my plane was and should be according to the plane icon on the map (which is like 40-60 seconds behind me). its almost like my ping is in the thousands, but on the server browser, its only 300-400, and the Australian server is only 50. after i bomb a target and start flying back to base, i often get killed by AAA at random because AAA is shooting at my "ghost", i'm already about a min away from the target area, this also happens with fighters, ill get killed by someone that i cannot even see but i don't get kicked from the server due to high ping, because its apparently only 350 or so ??? at this stage IL-2 is unplayable! and i don't know what to do. is it me? or is it IL-2? no other games do this as far as i'm concerned and the official server works fine. 9./JG27DavidRed Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 (edited) while i dont experience it as dramatic as you, it is an il2 issue...of course, a ping of 350 is massive and will lead to issues, but its their netcode that creates these "lag behind events". very obvious for everybody i know is, that in dogfights your enemy doesnt look at all with the nose on you, but somehow yet he manages to shoot you. this is really problematic, as it destroys proper dogfight tactics... another serious problem i see very often is to get hit before they even shoot for me visually...and this on a server where i have a ping of below 100. the thing is, in all MP games there is the ping issue....and in all sims ive played of course high pings will cause slight problems...but its only here in this il2 where i see this, "nose is looking anywhere but its still deadly for you" issue... having said that, i have encountered players which i shot, and it seemed as nothing happened to them at all, only to watch them explode or loose a wing or catching fire a couple of seconds later...but what you are talking about with a lag of 60seconds, that really sounds horrible. Riderocket Posted April 27, 2017 Author Posted April 27, 2017 Yeah, its pretty bad, like I said, I'll drop my bombs and nothing happens, then later after circling the target I'll see AAA shooting where I was and I'll be taking damage, then all the targets I bombed get destroyed. lol
Riderocket Posted April 30, 2017 Author Posted April 30, 2017 WiFi? if so you need direct line. Yes I use WiFi, I cannot use direct line to my computer (its upstairs and in my room), but I've been using WiFi since early access in this game and never had this happen before.

13Nrv Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 (edited) Use CPL instead of Wi fi , depending on the quality of your house electrical wiring you can have almost no loss and no ping problem , but it will rely on it . My box is downstairs , my actual house is 30 years old , i use CPL, i have no loss, and my ping is stable (30) . Try it ! Edited May 1, 2017 by -LaFrench-13Nrv
