moonraker Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I've been flying IL-2 series for years, and being American, I fly with imperial measurments tags,[ read feet]. If a enemy acft has a distance tag of 1.0 or highter, how far away is the acft.? Also in BOM-S-K, I'm now at level 9. What do the difference levels mean? "Moonraker"
Riderocket Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 (edited) In the settings, you can change whether you want to use imperial or metric. Not sure if this effects icons, but you could always test this by seeing what number appears when in range. Edit: I don't know what 1.0 would be because I use metric The SP campaign is about to be replaced by a much better career mode, similar to rise of flights career, but the higher your level the higher the skill of the enemy. That being said, when you reach a certain level and it restarts, not sure what happens then. S! Edited April 26, 2017 by Riderocket
Willy__ Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 If you didnt change from metric to imperial in the options like riderocked said, 1.0 on the icon means 1 km.
Royal_Flight Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 I'm like you, I think in imperial but have to play in metric to read the instruments. So I try to use ways to convert them in my head. Distance is easy, at 1 metre is almost 1 yard. Altitude isn't too bad, as 1 metre is basically 3 feet, so for alt just roughly multiply everything by 3 (e.g. 400m = 12,000ft) Speed is a bit more tricky but I have a few 'known comparisons' I use to help estimate. I know that 160kph = 100mph, 240kph = 150mph, 320kph = 200mph and 400kph = 250mph. So you can try to estimate what your speed is based on where you are between those values. Also adding 80kph is the same as adding 50mph. Not hugely precise but it does the trick for me.
senseispcc Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 I you have a tablet somewhere there are many free "android" applications that do the conversions for you and with some practice you shall not need that anymore fast. We "metrics" have the same problem with the P-40 in realistic settings! And also in IL2 COD when flying the GB side of the game. But I think there is some help for that in the Team Fusion help files.
