drew03tx Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 anyone else having this issue? Ill be flying along just fine then outta nowhere the canopy will open, engine will turn off, and sometimes the pilot will just eject. Happened to me 3 times in the WOL server. Really anoying
Professor1942 Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Never. Sounds like you have something bound to "bail" which is being accidentally touched, on your stick maybe?
drew03tx Posted April 24, 2017 Author Posted April 24, 2017 i was afraid of that.....i wonder if there is a short in my hotas or something
OrLoK Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 (edited) BoX does not inform you if you've already mapped a certain key/switch or axis already. see below My money is on a double bind. Edited April 24, 2017 by OrLoK
JimTM Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 (edited) Beside "Eject" in your key bindings, do you have an orange double square icon? If so, it means you have two or more functions bound to the same key. Hover your mouse over the icon to see what else is bound to the key. Edited April 24, 2017 by JimTM 1
Mabroc Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Something similar happened to me when I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10, for some reason the motherboard USB 3.0 port made the HOTAS throttle to kill the engine (mapped to a switch) at random. I could hit the switch, restart it and keep flying, sometimes. It was some kind of power outage I assume, because of the new OS drivers. I bought a USB 3.0 powered HUB and never had a problem again. Before the OS update I flew like a year without a problem, so I assumed that was the culprit, nothing else changed
drew03tx Posted April 24, 2017 Author Posted April 24, 2017 restarted the game, played single player for a little bit and didnt have any issues. Maybe thats all it needed, the ol' turn and turn back on method

Yogiflight Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 But a double binding with bail out would not explain, why the engine stops, and he only sometimes bails out. Sounds to me more like a bug. Hopefully it is really gone, but it could also be, that it just appears, when you play online.
Professor1942 Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 I've noticed a similar glitch which I haven't yet figured out. Sometimes when I first touch the joystick the throttle goes to 50%, even though the joystick throttle is set to zero and wasn't touched. It's pretty annoying and can result in some embarrassing taxi fails.
Yogiflight Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 I had this experience also two or three times lately in scripted missions. IIRC one time in Gambit's Ju52 missions and two times in Jade Monkey's Butcher Campaign. I thought, it had to do with the aircraft in front of me throtteling up, but it might also be the touching of the stick.
