ludwiggigispe Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Hi, I'm new on IL2-BoS. The single missions included in the simulator are very few, I tried downloading missions but even having them properly inserted they do not work. Are there any ready-to-play missions, for combat training, with easy layouts? Otherwise, whoever starts this simulator is always knocked down and gets tired soon. Thanks. Ludwig.
TP_Silk Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 (edited) I would recommend the QMB for learning experiences and once you feel happy with controlling your aircraft and manoeuvring around the sky maybe move on to either the built in campaigns or something like the Pat Wilson Campaign Generator as both of these can be adjusted to some extent to suit various difficulties (PWCG slightly more so I believe). The other thing you could do is try to hook up with a few folks over Teamspeak on one of the live MP servers and get some experience in there. Okay, so you, like many of us before you, will learn to take it on the chin from those that already more experienced, but as long as you can pick yourself up and go again having learned something you will improve and eventually be the one that does the bouncing EDIT: there are also some excellent third party and official campaigns that can be purchased or downloaded for free as you mention. I suspect that the issue you are experiencing with them not loading is possibly due to something like not unzipping them to quite the correct place (I used to do this a lot myself). Sketch Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 I agree with TP_Silk. Use the QMB to create a simple target (like a bomber or Ju52) and engage it from different angles until you get the jist of shooting and flying.
Warpig Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 (edited) I can't get the player-made campaigns to show up. I drop downloaded the contents in their respective folders, but no luck. Edited May 13, 2017 by Warpig

Salutations, I have a group of very simple single player missions that I put together for learning the mission editor and for training. Place the included folder in your games Missions folder. NOTE: Auto Pilot is available in all missions. They may include craft from BOS, BOM and BOK. If you don't have a particular craft featured in a mission you may not be able to access that mission unless you change the craft type yourself in the Mission Editor. TP_Silk Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 I can't get the player-made campaigns to show up. I drop downloaded the contents in their respective folders, but no luck. Single player campaigns should be in their own folder in the folder '...\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\Data\Campaigns' and you should ensure that there are no subfolders to that. An example is ...\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\Data\Campaigns\MyCampaign with the campaign files directly in that folder (ie the .mission files etc). I hope this helps 1

They will not show up in the campaigns area because they are different mission types.
TP_Silk Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Yeah, but I answered a question about player-made campaigns, which I took to mean the scripted ones. My bad if he just meant a series of linked missions.
