I have some Questions when I want to attack Ground Units in a single Player Mission.

First of all there is a Mission on the Lapino Map:

- Taxy- Takeoff - Flying some Waypoints in 400 m - landing. This works fine.

Plane is a bf 109 with 4 times 50kg bombs.

In the middle of the waypoints, I put some "Katjucha" I want the Pilots to Bomb or Attack the

Ground Units either with kannons or with the Bombs.

Like it is shown in IL-2 Sturmovik Mission Editor and Multiplayer Server Manual i put a

attack command next to the cars and link the object with the bf 109 and the  target link with the "Katjucha"

The Planes don´t attack the Ground units...

- Where am I wrong?

- Do I have to link the attack command with a waypoint, and if so, how do I do that?

- Is there a altitude i have to fly or something like that?

Has someone a Idea where am I wrong?

You need to trigger the attack command by something, for example a waypoint.

o.k. thank You.

That was it.!!

But now, one Plane attack one of the truck. After the Truck is destroyed, there are three left.

My Planes doesnt attack again, they went home....

Can i tell them attack till destroyed all or attack 3 Times?

I guess you need to use the Attack Area (ground) command if you want them to attack multiple targets.

I have tested it, but then, the Mission never stops... All Trucks are destroyed but my Planes did not return home...

In Area Attack I can say for example 10 minutes... But there is no affect about this.

Have an OnKilled event from each Katjusha trigger a single Counter MCU. Set that counter to go off from the number of Katjushas you want them to destroy, then link that counter to the waypoint that tells the planes to fly home.

Edit: See the "Trigger an Event Based on How Many Times Other Events Occur" in JimTM's guide for the counter.

Further to Temuri's note, see "Trigger an Event When One or More Events Occur One Time Each" in the topic that he mentions.

I think I'll include an example for your scenario in the next version of the manual, under "Make an Object Attack Enemy Objects Within an Area".

Cheers Thad. It may be a little while as there's plenty of fixes/improvements to make and I'm concentrating right now on getting paid writing gigs.

I will try to solve it with Waypoints ...

Three Waypoints bound with the attack command. After the First Attack they fly back, next Waypoint attack command again and so on.

In this Way, I hope to get it to work.

Also, if the trucks are linked together properly, like a convoy, the planes will keep attack the 'group'.

I think that wouldn't be needed. Attack area command, set to ground units, make sure it has adequate time. The ai will auto do multiple attack runs if enemy is present in the zone. aside from the methods mentioned (on killed event types) I more often use the oneventBombsBingo command (unless you want straffing runs). Which means once the bombs are all dropped the planes will go to a WP of your choice for example. Also you can do MGbingo, but if you want them to strafe for awhile too the method previously mentioned is the way to go. If you want just bombs to be dropped in a few runs, use bombs bingo.

You could always post your mission and I'm sure the issue or missing stuff will be solved within 24hours. Thanks to the il2 mission editor HEROS of this forum haha. I'm looking at you Jim, Gambit and Coconut!

It depends.

1- A group is activated (leader + wingmen) : Only one Command Attack area link to the leader.

2- A group is spawn ( 3 planes) : 3 command attack area. Each plane must have its onwn command attack area.

Don't forget to set the play time in the command attack area properties.

Activate unit act as a group.

Spawn unit act as indivual plane.
