What a great feeling this is....

I'm new here, so hello...

But I'm also old, not bold, still living pilot :)

This SIM is the best that ever happened to me in a long time. DCS great SIM, enjoy it a lot but for a WW2 SIM not so much.

The sound the feeling of flying the old warbirds are great, I tried a spitfire once, as a passenger, and I almost could taste the same feeling I got when I tried it, flying in IL-2.

The only complain I could find was the lack of a clickable cockpit, but HEY you can't have it all, can you.

The sound is great, the graphics are outstanding in 4K I really really enjoy this game, so thank you to the developers, you made my day, and the days to come.

Cheers!

S! Welcome to the fold!

I too am a newcomer back to the franchise. There's a wealth of info here, the game has really matured over the years.

Indeed welcome!

I came back to this sim after a long hiatus, and boy am I enjoying it immensely now!

I really wanted a clickpit, until I tried cliffs of dover, now I find its just an annoying thing and doesn't really add realism to The game (because I binded everything to The keyboard anyway)

Nice!

Get as well a VR headset and you'll be blown away :)
And welcome to the community!

Hi again, fellow pilots,

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Did some bomb runs yesterday, I love the old bombers, slide gliding down for a landing was really fun, just for future improvements, waaay down the list :)

howling wind sound and cracking chassi sounds would be great in that situation, however that is just the little details :D

VR will for sure be on the list as soon as the resolution goes up, for now my TIR and 4K 50" is just enough :)

great fun, cheers!

Bit of a late comer to IL2 BoX myself but having a great time.

Greetings.

Driving a tank in VR is also a great but oppressive experience... I wish the tank interiors would be better!

I am of the same opinion than you, in COD the clickable cockpit is for best simulated by placing the keyboard just Under my screen so I have to reach for it but with the double advantage that it is also illuminated by this same screen. Sorry but in the BOx serie I do not think we do not need this feature.  :salute:

Honestly the resolution with pixel density and a splash of AA is a total non issue. I honestly don't care about new headsets with higher res because that will no doubt just push the GPU CPU requirements up even further, all I look forward to is a constant 90 fps. But trust me when you get it dialed in it's incredible and aleady looks utterly fantastic with crystal clear cockpit displays! Edited by TheNoobleWurtha

OK, never tried it with IL-2, maybe someday I will try it out, but for now TIR and 4K monitor works just fine :)

There is actually a howling wind sound and it grows in volume as you approach very high speeds like 600kph. It's very convincing IMHO!

Yeah, when I took my headphones on I could hear it, maybe the sound got lost with the surround sound box speakers ?

Speaking of 5.1, I have 5.1 headphones but when I run IL-2 I can't hear some noises, so I changed it back to stereo.

How do I get 5.1 working in IL-2?

Rider if the option is selected in game properly I would think its a matter of setting up in windows sound settings..here you can test to make sure surround is working..
