Is there a setting for the replays to get the classic ww2 gun cam view? or is it just a key im missing in the mapping?

Try LAlt+F4

Cycle through those, one is a guncam. If that doesn't work, try LShift+F4

Try out all the views with a modifier, there are some really cool camera angles. Usually the game differentiates between Left+Shift/Alt/Ctrl and Right+Shift/Alt/Ctrl, so those may yield even more views.

Some views don't work until your close to an opponent, like F8 (Cool camera the padlocks your target from the external view of your aircraft)

Great idea - I would love a checkbox in the settings with "Automatically ask to save gun cam footage after mission". Then when the mission is done you can view the different gun camera clips and select the ones you want to save. Have them in grainy slo-mo black and white if desired would be a nice bonus naturally... And add the date/time and target type like those german clips that float aroud the web for full score.

It could help out with the deflection angles as well. I think I lead to little all the time but it's really hard to tell :)

Alt+F2 cycles throught the hardpoint cameras, some of which are close to guncams. Play around with the zoom settings once you find a camera you like.

One post by the OP then nothing. He hasn't been back in over a year. Do you ever wonder what becomes of people like that who post then vanish? Boy I always do. I guess you never want to think the unthinkable has happened to someone but sometimes I wonder. So many people who I used to enjoy reading their posts have disappeared over the last 20 years. I know web pages like this mean different things to each of us but still, to have an interest in a game like this but not keep up with developments (it appears) seems odd to me. Life changes sometime I guess.

It is interesting. I didnt notice the dates.

It could be a million things, but I guess in general most people don't follow the forums of the games they play, especially if you play a lot of games and churn through.

IL2 is a bit different in that sense, it's a long term project that builds on top of previous work and tends to create a community.

I have to admit that I don't follow any other game's devs or their forums ( and I play and have a lot of games). IL2 is the exception for me.

We think the same. I often wonder what has happened to some forumers I used to know.

On one Tech forum I frequented, somebody brought up a year old thread to a once frequent member to say, "Thankyou very much for that advice you`re a great help!"

A Mod posted to say, "Yes, he was before his passing. Thread closed."

That was very sad. Made me realise that the real world goes on and people may stop posting for many more reasons than just because they`re bored. I`ve been on forums enough times to see one or two go now. :( It is what it is.
